November 12, 200915 yr very true... out of that list, it's Soft Cell I feel most sorry for... they had oodles of simply brilliant singles (Soul Inside, Torch, Say Hello Wave Goodbye, What!, Numbers, Bedsitter to name just a couple) yet it's the tired old Tainted Love everyone seems to remember them by I totally agree... I'm fukkin' sick of hearing Tainted Love at Goth or 80s nights, seriously.... I've moaned to several DJ friends of mine about it, they hate it as much as me, but keep getting requests for it from the numpties who know feck-all about Soft Cell apart from that one track, talk about an albatross round your neck... It's almost as bad as the continuous fukkin' play of NIN's "Closer" at club nights, which really is the worst song Trent ever wrote (you'll probably say that all Trent Reznor's songs are the worst he ever wrote though, wont you...? :P )
November 15, 200915 yr Trent who? :D :P Going back to Soft Cell, and one of the songs I mentioned - Soul Inside, one of their smaller top 30 hits - but has to be one of the most exhilarating 4 minutes of pop music ever made... and the video, which the band were forced into making, where the band realised it was all over, were right royally pissed off with their label and the music biz in general, were off their collective chopses on ecstasy and decided to end it all with a video where they trashed and smashed all their record company promotional items including every single last gold and platinum disc they ever had. How's that for a f***-you attitude Now that's what I call going out in style. A great record..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-tURYAGIIOI
