We hung out with Will Young last night! Yay!

Last night heatworld had one of the best nights of our lives. At the risk of sounding a bit gushy (us?) we were beyond excited when we got invited along to the launch of Will Young’s Greatest Hits album at Central London’s Langham Hotel. We were treated to passion-fruit Martini’s before being plied with wine and nibbles while sitting a mere metre away from the man with the silkiest voice in pop. We all got to fill out voting cards for which tracks we wanted the Pop Idol winner to perform, and imagine our delight when he picked heatworld’s out first. He dedicated You And I to us, and went on to perform singles including Evergreen, Leave Right Now and Relight My Fire as well as cracking loads of jokes. Who knew he could be so funny?! We later rounded the evening off by cosying up to Will for a photo, and even got to have a little stroke of his velvet jacket. Sigh. Are you a Will fan?

Will Young's Greatest Hits album will be released on 16 November.

Last night we decided to pop out for a few drinks and some music with our editor. Since Will Young is our guest editor this month, that turned into us going to watch him do an intimate concert at The Langham Hotel to launch his greatest hits album, The Hits, out 16 November. The martinis we were treated to on arrival had little Bang! flags in them by the way, just like on the album cover seen here.

A cute touch! Once Will took to the stage, we were serenaded to an hour of music chosen by those attending at random, including classics like Changes, Leave Right Now, Light My Fire and (gasp!) Evergreen, a track he hasn't done in years. We were really proud of our editor last night. Make sure you pick up a copy of the album when it's out and pick up our new issue, out now, to read ten interviews done by Will.
