I think Robbie will sell more, but I hope JLS beat him.

JLS are very popular, but I don't think the majority of their "fans" are willing to buy the album until it's £5.99 in a sale next year. I guess some of these people are balanced out by the crazy fans who want the album with each cover case though!

Robbie has an incredible track record - all his albums have reached #1, and that is where this will debut.

Well his last album Rudebox only sold 147K in its first week, taking into account the lower sales due to free streaming sites and cherry picking of album tracks I think he will struggle to sell 200K in the first week.

As JLS' album is released to a rabid fanbase with different covers for each of the members of the group, I can see them passing the 200K mark with ease.

Just look how Alexandra Burke outsold Robbie's last single by two to one; and I can easily foresee Reality Killed the Video Star again being a very apt title come Sunday week.

I don't think little girls have so much money to buy 5 times the albums  . I think their fanbase are more a download one. Alexandra didn't sold too much and she was the winner.

The fanbase of Mr. Williams is more older and more prepared to buy an album instead of a single.

Indeed.

If Cheryl and Alex is bigger than JLS and they didn't get near the 200K mark, so they don't.

How come this bloody thread has all suddenly become about revolving around JLS and Robbie Williams?

But I don't think they are.

Historically whether it was The Monkees; the Osmonds; the Bay City Rollers; New Kids On The Block; Take That; Backstreet Boys; etc if a lot of females get behind a boyband they will buy albums in fanatical amounts hence I expect them to comfortably outsell Alexandra Burke and Cheryl Cole for first week album sales. They also have the credibilty of having won two Mobo awards this year and not being signed by Syco records.

If you believe Robbie will outsell JLS then have a look at Amazon.co.uk:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/new-releases/mu...AJCX41R77Y503RY

and HMV's site:

or Asda:

The more observant amongst you will note that JLS are ahead of Robbie on all three pre sale sites. Hence it makes it rather easy to conclude if JLS are ahead of a long awaiting returning Robbie Williams in the pre-order album front then the Tesco mums and Sainsbury Dads are more likely to purchase the JLS album in the supermarket where JLS are far more likely to outstrip the Robster in the lower end of the market who buy albums on a more casual basis being more likely to have daughters who are big fans of the X-Factor texting on their mobile phones on a Saturday evening to keep Jedward and Lloyd in the contest..

I mean if Robbie is not even ahead of JLS on HMV's pre order coming soon site then that really is a very bad omen for him.

I don't know, but I get the feeling the title of this thread might give you a bit of a clue.

Twas a joke! Hence the 'big paws' ... as Brian Blessed would say after the Polar Bear asked for a 'Pint of ............................................................................................................................... lager'.

Apart from pre-orders, Mr Williams have the best promotion bevor releasing the album and in the first week. What promotion have JLS?

But Rich - surely the biggest marker is the Play.Com chart and Rob is ahead of them there - he's at 1, JLS at 2 and .... Take That at 3!

I'm so pleased that Take That's album is also at 7 on HMV - I honestly didn't think they'd do as well with this (although secretly hoping they would) ... but it looks like they may make the top 10 album chart after all.

As being a live album released with the same material with the dvd, i don't expect to much from it. Top 20 with luck.

Which position has Westlife ?

JLS and definitely going to have the higher sales, and be #1.

Well Char1sma will be pleased - they're not doing too bad at all - 10 on Amazon, 6 on HMV, 5 on Play and 4 on Asda - so they'll definitely make top 10. Easy money for a pile of steaming sh/te!

You may be right about TT ... but I'm pretty sure they'll have the Music DVD number 1 ... and for a good few weeks. They held it for 10 with Beautiful World and The Circus was an even better tour!

JLS I think.

You know how obsessive their teenage fans are who think they're "so fucking sexy". -_-

Robbie Williams Im guessing

& about the slipcase idea.. Im a JLS fan myself & no way would I buy all 4 :| and I dont know of many other fans that are buying 4 either

1 is enough for me.

Also read someone say its a ridiculous idea as they arent known for their personalities.. Most of their fans will feel they know them from video blogs, x factor, meeting them etc.. & will have their favourites.. so in a way I think its a good idea and will boost their sales

I think it's more in the favour of Robbie to be #1 album, JLS have a lot of very young fans, who readily buy a cheap cd single or download, but don't seem to buy albums as easily.

I'd find it pretty worrying if people bought music based on what the person singing looked like.

Fair enough they are good looking boys but I really doubt most of their fanbase including me would buy the songs & be fans of them.. if we hated the songs they were releasing.. Covers dressed in suits sitting on stools = no way

I would openly admit if I hated any of their songs.. have heard previews of most of the album & from what Ive heard.. it sounds like its going to be good

Loads better songs than Everybody in Love & Beat Again

& JLS Promotion for the album:

10th nov - this morning

11th nov - blue peter

13th nov - friday show in northern ireland

14 nov - 5:19 show on bbc2

Im sure they will have some album signings too.. & some more promo lined up
