November 5, 200915 yr 8th January is a Friday (my birthday), so do you mean the 9th? From the participant list so far, I think it's going to be really good :) Is it when the whole participant list is revealed that they put 30sec clips of each song on the MGP website?
November 5, 200915 yr Author 8th January is a Friday (my birthday), so do you mean the 9th? From the participant list so far, I think it's going to be really good :) Is it when the whole participant list is revealed that they put 30sec clips of each song on the MGP website? No, the 8th is correct :) NRK say this year is going to be a very good year for MGP :w00t: Yes :)
November 5, 200915 yr is this a joke :o Mira, Maria, A1 (as in the boyband with the Norwegian member I presume)!?! if this is true it would be my highlight of the year! Imagine the UK's reaction if A1 came on to represent Norway at ESC!!! all eyes will be on MGP of course to see if they can follow their massive win decently, I expect we will see some big names!
November 5, 200915 yr are Maria and Mira going in separately? they MUST do another duet, I could nick it for BJSC when it finishes 9th overall in MGP :heehee: it could be the new Mine All Mine :w00t:
November 5, 200915 yr Author Yes, the British-Norwegian boyband A1 :w00t: and Mira and Maria is going to be competitors :o No duet I'm afraid :( I really hope people from UK or else where can get a little more interested in MGP, and not MF :kink: Edited November 5, 200915 yr by Jerick
November 5, 200915 yr I've done a piece about this exciting news on my blog: http://poplovedance.blogspot.com/2009/11/s...d-new-band.html for those who can't be bothered to read the article, watch this video anyway; YQr03GqaiJA 'Summertime of Our Lives...who doesn't remember that?' and trust me Jerick, with A1, Maria and Mira all there, my attention has instantly been switched over to MGP! I just wish I had more time off work so I could go :drama:
November 5, 200915 yr Author Oh I liked your article :D The video was funny  when he just walked down to the kitchen when he played Take on Me and just walking around in a circle :P
November 5, 200915 yr Oh I liked your article :D The video was funny  when he just walked down to the kitchen when he played Take on Me and just walking around in a circle :P thank you :cheer: I know, it makes me laugh because A1 were 'my era' if you like...they were one of the bands that were huge when I was in high school so I remember all of these songs well, people used to obsess over Ben  and Shane from Westlife  looking back, I'm surprised they were so popular in Norway actually :o nearly all of their songs reached the same positions as they did in the UK, with Take On Me and Same Old Brand New You both being No.1's here and there! I guess as they are part Norwegian and covered a Norwegian's band song as their first No.1, it makes sense though!

November 5, 200915 yr none of their albums did that well here I don't think, they were all massive flops iirc  I won't pretend I was a huge fan but I liked Everytime, Same Old Brand New You and Caught In The Middle
November 5, 200915 yr Author looking back, I'm surprised they were so popular in Norway actually :o nearly all of their songs reached the same positions as they did in the UK, with Take On Me and Same Old Brand New You both being No.1's here and there! I guess as they are part Norwegian and covered a Norwegian's band song as their first No.1, it makes sense though! Christian Ingebrigtsen is probably the reason it did well in Norway :P Christian have charted this alone: Singles Can't Give Up 1 week in 2004, #18 as best place Things Are Gonna Change 9 weeks in 2003, #1 as best place Albums Paint Christmas White 4 weeks in 2006, #22 as best place Take Back Yesterday 13 weeks in 2004, #2 as best place The Truth about lies 2 weeks in 2007, #22 as best place

November 5, 200915 yr I know he was writing for other people (Christian), I noticed his name in Maria Haukaas Storeng's album credits booklet...he co-wrote the song Lazy I think, which actually reminded me slightly of the A1 song Be The First To Believe
November 5, 200915 yr A1  . I loved a couple of their songs, particularly Same Old Brand New You. I really hope Alexander Stenerud or Zuma appear in the MGP lineup again!
November 6, 200915 yr A1  LOL I don't remember songs from titles, only Take On Me, i am sure i will remember as soon as i hear.
