Gerard James Borg has written the lyrics to five Maltese entries in the Eurovision Song Contest (2000, 2002, 2004, 2007, 2008) but he is also known for his numerous national final submissions all over Europe. Songs written by him have taken part in Belgium, Bulgaria, Iceland, the Netherlands, Norway and Romania. In Malta, he wrote more than 20 national final entries. The rumours were true then! Song 3 is most certainly A1 and song 8 has to be Mira Craig  unless it's one she's written for Maria, but I really can't imagine Maria singing a song called 'I'll Take You High' whereas Mira obviously would
November 27, 200915 yr I think eurovision should be like JESC, where you must sing even a little bit in your native language.
November 27, 200915 yr Author I think eurovision should be like JESC, where you must sing even a little bit in your native language. No that would been unfair :(
November 27, 200915 yr No, I like the fact a load of songs are in English, as it makes it easier for me to sing along :D But a bit strange MGP has only one song in Norwegian :( I think it may have an advantage, if the public find it a bit easier to understand. Can see it at least getting to the second chance round ;)

November 28, 200915 yr But.. it will be very boring with only English and one Norwegian :( I always look farward the the Norwegians songs, so I hope Synk eller svøm is good, but it sound bad:kink: 21 songs - I think it would have been fair to have 12 in English, and 9 in Norwegian. Then there are 3 semi finals/rounds, with 7 songs each? And they could make it so each semi-final/round has 3 songs in Norwegian, and 4 in English. Maybe it's happened just because NRK thought all the Norwegian songs submitted were bad? (Or all the English ones or Amazing). They can't think that they can't win, as Serbia won very recently in 2007 with a non-English song.
November 28, 200915 yr Author I meant, to have at least a verse in their native language. That would have sounded stupid for the Scandinavian countries I think ;P

December 4, 200915 yr Maria :cheer: I'm expecting a classic something more like Hold On Be Strong than Killing Me Tenderly please :P
December 4, 200915 yr I listen to only foreign songs so am definitely wouldn't be biased by the fact that some songs have a verse or some other part in some other language I don't know.
December 4, 200915 yr Author I don't think any of them have mixed up a soup of diffrent languages in a song :P
December 4, 200915 yr Maria  When will the NRK website post 30sec previews of the songs or whatever?
December 17, 200915 yr A1 has been confirmed as singing "Don't Want To Lose You Again" & Mira Craig has been confirmed as singing "I'll Take You High". I would post the full line-up for Semi-Final #3, but I thought Jerick might like to do it as it is his thread.
December 17, 200915 yr I'll Take You High is a very Mira-esque song name  I'm expecting an ANTHEM
