they had a recent top ten hit in Norway called Take Me Home which was good - think Caught In The Middle crossed with Viva La Vida - so they are definitely more mature pop now than their old boyband early pop...

 

I noticed that when I was compiling the HET30. Was surprised as I didn't realise they had even reformed. Even still, it didn't make me want to go and listen on YouTube.

hardly a shock, two of the remaining three acts are abysmal and the Norwegian language one is an acquired taste I think :heehee:

listened to the 8 clips;

 

A1 - sounds average from the clip - not enough of the song to determine if it's good or bad

Belinda Braza - good production, has potential

Fred Endersen - nice melody - could be good

Karoline Garfjell - Rachel Stevens 2005 like production, promising

Maria Arredondo - sounds like a really nice ballad (with strings!), looking forward to the full version

Skanksters - a Ska pop song? sounds exactly like Madness crossed with that Turkey 2004 entry, interesting :lol:

Tomine Harket - a simple piano ballad, sounds very nice

Venke Knutson - a cheery pop song, typical Eurovision chorus but quite 2008 with the soul pop sound - good though

 

needless to say I'm really looking forward to hearing all 8 of these in full!

Well I dunno, on the ESCtoday poll, Gaute is coming 2nd and Elisabeth is coming 6th :(

 

:o I doubt Elisabeth'll come 6th, she's too well known for that, I think she'll make the top 4 at least.

watching it now :D first ESC related thing I've watched in 2010!

really don't like Gaute's song still :( would be another notorious last place for Norway if they sent it to ESC

watching Rewind Love made me want to tear my ears off - one of the worst songs/performances I've seen in a national final - completely out of tune vocals and a song that sounds 50 years out of date :(

Bjorn and Elisabeth were both very decent far better than the first three performances/songs

 

I hope they both at least make it to last chance if not the final

Maria so classy as ever, easily my favourite song and performance so far - keeps on growing on me

 

this would sound great on commercial radio, along with Mine All Mine and Hold On Be Strong :drama:

Elisabeth's song live was underwhelming throughout most of it.

 

Maria was great :wub: I have no doubt she'll progress.
