November 10, 200915 yr All the albums i've heard so far. The Killers - Day & Age It's a good enough album...but nothing special... Muse - The Resistance Fantastic album, though i've lost alot of interest in it recently. :( Yeah Yeah Yeahs - It's Blitz! It's a bit boring aside from about 2 or 3 three amazing songs... Paramore - Brand New Eyes It's actually a very good album. :o A couple of great highlights andnot a single song i can really say i dislike. Tenacious D - Tenacious D They're horrendous. Apart from Wonderboy ans POD (which isn't on this album) of course... Muse - Black Holes And Revelations AMAZING. Album. The Killers - Sam's Town See Day & Age...i doubt i'll purchase their next album... Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory This is actually a solid album...i'm glad i've given them some room in my life now. :)
November 10, 200915 yr Author Daisy sucks. AT THIS RATE DEVIL MUST BE #1. You love Brand New. ;o You make me sad pointing out my fanboyish ways. November 10, 200915 yr Author 30 | Portishead - Third http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/PRERELPORTIS.JPG Favourite Tracks :: The Rip, We Carry On, Nylon Smile, Hunter I had paid no attention to Portishead before this album, it is stunning and I love the whole sound of it especially the amazing vocals. 'The Rip' is my favourite, just beautiful. Since then I have investigated their back catalogue and it really is very strong indeed. 29 | Arcade Fire - Funeral http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/RTRADCD219.JPG Favourite Tracks :: Rebellion (Lies), Wake Up, Neighborhood #2 (Laïka), In the Backseat The much lauded 'Funeral' then makes a rather low appearance as t is used to being up in the top tens of best-of lists. It is a fantastic record there are no bad tracks, and it has a feel to it which the second lacked, I can't put my finger on exactly what is but it makes this record special, I was in love with it for a long time and still am. Still #29 is a fantastic position which it thoroughly deserves. This will prompt me to listen to it again. 28 | Metric - Fantasies http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/MET80019.JPG Favourite Tracks :: Waves, Gimme Sympathy, Collect Call, Twilight Galaxy This year's highest entry then and it comes from Metric, towards the end of 2008 and at the start of 2009 I was literally obsessed with all things Metric, this menat I was amazingly hyped up for this album and when it came it succeeded in the marvellous task of NOT disappointing me. That's why it deserves it's position this high up, some beautiful tracks but a shame the best song is a bonus track when you ordered the special version, 'Waves' is amazing and need to be listened to. 27 | Emily Haines & The Soft Skeleton - Knives Don't Have Your Back http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/DIS0026.JPG Favourite Tracks :: Winning, Our Hell, Doctor Blind, Crowd Surf Off A Cliff The wonderful Emily Haines does it again, this time with her far more sombre, downright sad, solo work. It took a LONG time for this to click, I think it was because I was used to the upbeat nature of Metric and I couldn't listen to this all the way through, anyway it finally did earlier this year and it is a truly magical piece of work. I love piano. 26 | The Mars Volta - Frances The Mute http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/2103977.JPG Favourite Tracks :: The Widow, Cassandra Geminni: Tarantism, L' Via l'Viaquez, Miranda That Ghost Just Isn't Holy Anymore: Pour Another Icepick From the ashes of At the Drive-In came, most notably, The Mars Volta. A far more experimental outfit with some tremendously long songs, I heard them before AtD-I and fell in lvoe with them for about a year with some non-stop playing going on. The songs could easily have devolved into a mess, but they didn't and they drag you into a bizarre world created by the band. Amazing stuff. November 10, 200915 yr Author 25 | Explosions In The Sky - The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/BELLACD55.JPG Favourite Tracks :: First Breath After Coma, The Only Moment We Were Alone, Your Hand In Mine Instrumental music at it's best, this is truly astonishing stuff. It's only 5-tracks, the shortest being 8:17, so I don't listen as much as I should. It makes me feel like everything is ok in the world, the sheer cinematic grandioseness of it all. Perfect for journeys. 24 | System Of A Down - Toxicity http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/5015342.JPG Favourite Tracks :: Prison Song, Chop Suey!, Toxicity, Needles System Of A Down's defining work now and a soundtrack to my youth, the sheer pace of this record, perfectly held together by Serj's characteristic vocals is a marvel. I've loved this record for years and go through little spells of listening to it fairly often even now, their later double-album thing had some gems but nothing that could come anywhere near this. 23 | Manchester Orchestra - I'm Like A Virgin Losing A Child http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/88697126482.JPG Favourite Tracks :: Wolves At Night, Now That You're Home, Alice and Interiors, Colly Strings I discovered this in late 2006 and it's one of the best discoveries I've made, I was obsessed with this album for a long time and I still hold it in very high regard as you can see. The album flows from quiet odes to barnstorming tracks, while not reaching the ferocity of their second effort it never felt like it needed to go that far. They have been supporting many people including Brand New and more recently Biffy Clyro so I'm hoping they get bigger. 22 | Yourcodenameis:milo - Ignoto http://images.musicnet.com/albums/005/377/257/c.jpeg Favourite Tracks :: I Am Connecting Flight, 17, Titan Grip, Rapt. Dept. Amazing album from an amazing band, 'I Am Connecting Flight' is a fantastic opener and probably my favourite thing they've ever done and that continues with the next three tracks which are all brilliant, I think the first half is stronger than the second but there really are no weak tracks. A must-listen for any fans of this genre, I am still sad they are no more. 21 | Thrice - The Alchemy Index Vols. I - II: Fire & Water http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/VRUK063CD.JPG Favourite Tracks :: Open Water, Firebreather, Burn The Fleet, Digital Sea I mentioned that Thrice were a hit and miss band for me in their previous entry and this can be summed up perfectly in this project. 'The Alchemy Index' comprised of two albums each containing 6 tracks from two elements. This was the first 'Fire & Water' and it is a marvel, the first half being a rip-roaring, blazing power fest and it is awesome, the second half is then in contrast a serene and beautiful experience. I still can't decide which half is better, oh and in case you were wondering about the second album 'Air & Earth', it isn't very good. w0o8JCxjjpM ZzX-fkAtIQ0 Edited November 10, 200915 yr by Ashford.

November 10, 200915 yr Some selected comments re: 100 - 21: 95 | The Killers - Day & Age - own, solid album but leaves me slightly empty 93 | Muse - The Resistance - own, stranger and not as good as their previous album 92 | M.I.A. - Kala - will be in my Top 100 albums countdown 91 | Kasabian - Kasabian - my brother own this. Personally I think only their third album is great. 90 | Yeah Yeah Yeahs - It's Blitz! - I really ought to buy. 86 | The Libertines - Up The Bracket - could have been the Arctic Monkeys if it weren't for the drugs. 83 | Metric - Grow Up And Blow Away - another act I really ought to buy as I adored Gimme Sympathy & Monster Hospital. 78 | Red Hot Chili Peppers - By The Way - far better than Stadium Arcadium. 77 | Tenacious D - Tenacious D - not a disaster, but not a great album either despite 3 killer songs. 76 | Vampire Weekend - Vampire Weekend - personally find them over rated. 75 | Coldplay - Parachutes - My least favourite Coldplay album. Preferred Elbow's debut. 71 | Maximo Park - A Certain Trigger - a rock solid album 70 | Arcade Fire - Neon Bible - way way way too low IMHO. 60 | The Libertines - The Libertines - how can you prefer this to their debut? A bit like saying Second Coming is better than Stone Roses IMHO. 57 | Arctic Monkeys - Favourite Worst Nightmare - Great album but not as good as their debut. 39 | Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory - Personally, I think this album has dated very badly. 31 | Radiohead - Amnesiac - only their third best album this decade IMHO. 30 | Portishead - Third - now we are talking. Classic album to everyone but the Mercury Music Award panel. 29 | Arcade Fire - Funeral - one of the greatest albums of the decade IMHO.

November 11, 200915 yr Author 20| Circa Survive - Juturna http://www.punknews.org/images/covers/circa_survive-juturna.jpg Favourite Tracks :: Act Apalled, Holding Someone's Hair Back, In Fear and Faith, The Great Golden Baby Circa Survive with their debut now, a truly magnificent record that has one significant draw, Anthony Green's vocals. They may not be to everyone's taste but I love them. This album was the soundtrack to a large part of 2006, after coming out in 2005, for me. Another fun fact for y'all is that 'Act Apalled' was my top played track on last.fm before I reset. I'll let the music do the talking yeh? November 11, 200915 yr Author 19| Muse - Origin of Symmetry http://www.mediadis.com/pictures/big/165476.jpg Favourite Tracks :: New Born, Plug In Baby, Feeling Good, Bliss, Citizen Erased Now onto Muse with what was my favourite album of theirs for a long time however it has slipped in the last couple of years. While The Resistance shows them at their most poppy, this album by contrast is their least, with fierce sounding guitars and Bellamy's vocals at their best it is an awesome record. 'New Born' is maybe my favourite off of the album, but it's a close call, it's a 6-minute epic that showcases everything Muse have to offer. y3w4oKG8-kc Edited November 11, 200915 yr by Ashford.
November 11, 200915 yr Author 18| Deftones - Saturday Night Wrist http://www.cinemablend.com/images/sections/1471/1471.jpg Favourite Tracks :: Hole In The Earth, Rats! Rats! Rats!, Rapture, Cherry Waves I've always liked Deftones a fair amount, this album would have appeared a little bit lower on the countdown, but I had not listened to them as much as other bands I liked for whatever reason. Recently however they have really clicked with me and gone up to a whole new level in my opinions. Saturday Night Wrist their most recent album, before Chi Cheng's car accident that led to him being comatosed, and is a fantastic record with only one weakness which is 'Pink Cellphone'. This does nothing to detract form the album though in my opinion as the rest is Deftones at their best. The amazing 'Hole In The Earth' below for your viewing pleasure, my favourite track. 0qdhbfGbNdM Edited November 11, 200915 yr by Ashford.
