Well according to insiders on DS it's true and they aren't usuallly wrong. not totally sure though, could be a joke i'm missing :heehee:

I just can't see it being true, do they even have enough recognisable songs and I really can't see them changing it to them of all people. I know we've had Same Difference cover them on the live shows before, but I can't imagine a whole week of it when we didn't even have Robbie Williams week or Whitney Houston week earlier on.

They do seem to be doing a lot of boring themes lately though. :( Wham is nice and all but bleh, it's been done before.

I agree, Simon goes on about themes aiming to show the contestants are diverse and they're always highly praised when they pull off a contemporary version of a song. Wouldn't it be easier to just give them contemporary songs in the first place? Instead of putting a modern twist on a big band song, just give them something like "Poker Face", "I Gotta Feeling" etc. to show they have a place in the chart.

 

I think they should scrap traditional themes and do a different year, from the last decade, every week instead.

Yes, 'rolls eyes', just like when Leona got one practically every week. I'm not saying he's on her level, but that's his style. I do wish it wasn't a ballad though as he's apparently the best dancer there, could be a turning point if he got to do an uptempo number.

 

I think it might be a general George Michael week too. I think the song Louis picked is actually the only Wham! song there, the rest are all George Michael solo efforts. (or a duet in the case of one of them) I wonder if this means he's still set to appear then? I suppose it could set up a duet of one of these choices for whoever makes the final. (I guess they're hoping on Joe?)

But uptempo is out of Leona's comfort zone, Danyl's audition that Simon called 'the best ever' was an uptempo! Jamie himself has said Simon is ruining Danyl by giving him ballads everyweek because he is COMFORTABLE with uptempos and dancing, and as much as I hate Danyl I do feel sorry for him if this is the case.. 'With A Little Help Fron My Friends' wasnt exactly terrible..

I think it may be the case, the other contestants were saying how Danyl is the best dancer on Xtra Factor last week and he said something like 'they want me to do ballads'. You wouldn't realise he's a dance teacher with what he's done so far. Personally I haven't noticed a drastic change from his audition to the live shows...
