Posted November 12, 200915 yr Just further proving that Dirty Projectors' single 'Stillness is the Move' is one of the most amazing singles of the year, Solange is a fan and has covered it. ;o <3 http://pitchfork.com/news/37093-premiere-s...ss-is-the-move/ Amazing cover of an amazing band. ;o She's so indie.
November 12, 200915 yr Ooh thanks for posting this, saw her mention it on Twitter earlier, but assumed she'd performed it live or something. I think she really suits this sort of material, I liked her live version of "Destiny" by Zero 7 too. I hope we get another album. I think this will be the direction she's going in now, we saw bits of it with "Cosmic Journey", but she split with her record label so she could have more freedom.
November 12, 200915 yr I'm glad she is covering this, I hope it is the sort of material she will go with for her next album (if she makes another). ^_^
November 12, 200915 yr Author I cannot stop listening to this. o_o She's apparently really good friends with Ed Droste from Grizzly Bear and is a fan of The xx. Love her. Hope she makes a new album.

They sacked her because despite having more promo than pretty much anybody else out there she was selling jack shit. I do love her though, even if she only has three great songs.

Yeah, I thought it was weird after listening to her album to see that she is a huge fan of more indie artists than what she makes. I've seen her mention the two you did and the likes of Girls, Chairlift, Sia, Peaches, Janelle Monae etc. Please! They sacked her because despite having more promo than pretty much anybody else out there she was selling jack shit. I do love her though, even if she only has three great songs. Well that may be true, but her official line is that she wanted to continue on a more independent platform. I might be naive, but I kinda believe her. I think "Cosmic Journey" and "This Bird" are the sort of songs she enjoys making the most but her launch was very much "this is Beyoncé's sister". I believe that she'd rather go more experimental and obscure in an attempt to stop the comparisons, the first track on her last album was basically "I'M NOT BEYONCE" and that didn't exactly help. Before the label thing, she was saying about a release in the first half of 2010 but I guess this changes things a bit.
