we were warned that there would be a huge loss to the rural ecconomy and job losses... packs of hounds would be 'put down' as they couldnt be retrained as domestic pets... and that the countryside would be overrun with 'vermin'...

and has any of this happened?....

NO.

hunters LIED to us as they knew all along all they needed to do was to change from fox to drag hunting. however, foxes ARE still being killed.. 'accidentally'... <_< .

Of course the buggers lied to us, that much was obvious from the get-go.... There was never any real evidence to back up their rather "apocalyptic" theories.... Frankly, I reckon it's a lot more damaging to rural communities to bloody well shut down Post Offices and do away with rural bus or train routes just because they're not "viable" under our regime of PRIVATISED trains and DEREGULATED buses..... -_-

I probably would have supported the Countryside Alliance had they actually focussed on those things, but instead, they chose to be deliberately antagonistic and bloody-minded, and focussed the campaign on the extremely unpopular fox hunting, which they surely knew would never have gotten support from those in towns and cities, whereas, protesting about Post Office closures and closures of bus/train routes would have gotten a lot more people on their side.....

good point scott... hunters reckon they arnt a class thing and all sorts of people hunt, but ill wager theres no hunters that rely on a local post office or bus service to get them around... so why should they care? because they supposed to be 'the voice of rural britain'.... <_<

It just proved to me that by focussing entirely on fox hunting, essentially the Countryside Alliance were controlled by a bunch of Toffs and their acolytes looking out for their own narrow, vested interest and not really giving a sh!t about the ordinary folks in rural communities who would have been a damn sight more affected by closures of rural post offices, shops and bus routes than they ever would by a hunting ban. Which is why I never supported 'em tbh.....

The ban will have been repealed by this time next year...

You could actually be right there mate... If the bloody Tories got into power, I wouldn't be at all surprised.... Then you would see whose side these c/unts are really on..... <_<
