December 26, 200915 yr Author 41. The Futureheads - News and Tributes (2006) 40. The Prodigy - Invaders Must Die (2009) 39. Arctic Monkeys - Humbug (2009) 'News and Tributes' is the worst Futureheads album, yet it's the 41st best of the decade, what does that tell you about The Futureheads? There are some ace tracks on this album, some very well written songs such as 'Back To The Sea', 'Fallout', 'Cope', 'Thursday', 'Favours For Favours', 'Face', 'Burnt' ah f***, I love this album, I want to listen to it again now, so yeah very good album even though it's there worst, The Futureheads are THAT good. Number 40 and 39 and the second and third highest 2009 entries, 'Invaders Must Die' is The Prodigy back on form, it is basically just plain amazing, easily on par with 'Fat of the Land', the album completly blew me away, and is tbh, one of the best dance albums of the last ten years, possibly the best, definatly the best from this year. 'Humbug' is a brilliant album from Arctic Monkeys, with a great bit of influence from the album's producer, Josh Homme, this is very Arctic Monkeys meet Queens of the Stone Age, and it has definatly done them a lot of justice, it's sooo much better than 'Favourite Worst Nightmare' and also gave the world one of the best tracks by them, 'Pretty Visitors'. December 27, 200915 yr 'Toxicity' is a good album, it just missed my list. Love all the last three. 'Humbug' is so under-rated.
December 27, 200915 yr Author 38. Metallica - Death Magnetic (2008) 37. Streetlight Manifesto - Keasbey Nights (2006) 36. Rage Against the Machine - Renegades (2000) 'Death Magnetic' is Metallica back on form, after a weak erh, about ten years, they came back with this powerful, excellent, album, and tbh I think a lot of it was to do with ditching Bob Rock and getting the mighty Rick Rubin to produce the album, it is easily the 10 best tracks they have written since like 1990, easily one of the best metal albums this decade. Now, I was a bit iffy on if I should include 'Keasbey Nights', because, it was written and released originally in 1998, but this version was recorded by a different act but in 2004, it was re-recorded by the albums original songwriter though, Tomas Kalnoky, it was re-recorded to stop the re-release of the original as Tomas thought that it would be $h!t for his old band to re-release their best album that was written by someone who left the band ages ago, just to make money and not get anything extra, so Tomas re-recorded with his better, new band, Streetlight Manifesto, and this re-recorded version is alot better than the original and tbh, deserves it's place on this list despite when it was written. 'Renegades' is another cover album, this time songs covered by Rage Against The Machine, featuring all manner of classic activist type songs, some are fast and powerful ('In My Eyes', 'Renegades of Funk'), and they are all covered uniquely in RATM's own way, the album also featured the only non shouting or rapping vocals by Zack de la Rocha on 'Beautiful World', it also features the powerful closer of 'Maggies Farm' (by Bob Dylan) and their amazing cover of 'Kick Out The Jams'. zojiYj5Ff-8 Sk9RRnpFg24 xUMqqVOlJBs
December 29, 200915 yr Author 35. Damien Rice - O (2002) 34. Bloc Party - A Weekend In The City (2007) 33. Saul Williams - The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of Niggy Tardust (2007) 'O' is just one of the most amazing albums ever, so beautiful, I was in love with it as soon as I first heard it, it became one of my favourite albums ever, 'The Blowers Daughter' and 'Cannonball' just blew me away, I hadnt really heard anything loike it before, it was just so perfectly written, perfectly performed, it's one of thos albums that pitchfork were far too arrogant with and gave it 5.4/10, when almost every other review was very positive for the album, god I hate pitchfork. I dont care what anyone else thinks of the album, I think 'A Weekend In The City' was an amazing album, and a great follow up to 'Silent Alarm', it had some amazing lyrics, it had incredible pace (wasnt fast, but it wasnt epicly slow, it was just right), it has some of their most beautiful songs, such as 'Sunday' and 'SXRT' which conclude the album, it also has the beast of the songs that are 'Uniform' and 'Song For Clay', the only thing I dont like about this album is 'The Prayer' I dont understand how everyone seems to love it. 'The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of Niggy Tardust' is an amazing, unique, hip hop album, it's near enough the best hip hop album ever, definatly the best this decade, I would put it above basically every hip hop album in terms of innovativity, it's amazing industrial beats, Saul William's amazing poetry and lyrics, much more clever lyrics than any other rapper can come out with, in the end although Saul raps, he isnt a rapper, he is a poet, and this is his best album, and it has a brilliant producer (not sure of his name, something like Tront Reznok or something). rM5VS97Jx-U S3WAI_V_5Ng 5YXVMCHG-Nk

We Are Scientists - With Love and Squalor (2005) 'Falling Under The Lavender Bridge' is such lovely, brilliantly written album by Dev Hynes, before this came out, I only knew him as some guy from Test Icicles (who were $h!t), so for him to come out with a truely amazing record was a surprise, and it really is brilliant. I just remember not taking my mate seriously when he said 'Galaxy For The Lost' was a really good song, then I heard it, and f***, that guitar was something really special, even better that it was played on an acoustic aswell, and then I got the album, and wow, 'Midnight Surprise' is now probaly one of my favourite songs ever. 'Rated R' is a great rock album, really showed the band had potenial, they managed to top it aswell, you cant beat a bit of 'Monsters In Your Parasol' or 'Lost Art of Keeping A Secret' or 'Feel Good Hit of the Summer' (NICOTINE, VALLIUM, VICODIN, MARIJUNA ECTASY AND ALCOHOL.... CCCCCCOCAINE), so basic, so raw, early QOTSA has a different sound to more recent QOTSA, but is still, so good. 'With Love and Squalor' is a brilliant album from W.A.S which I can listen to again and again and again, no track is weak even in the slightist, it was when I first saw them live that I got really into some songs, for example the brilliant 'Textbook' and also 'Inaction' and 'Lousy Reputation', my favourite songs off of the album. eUHfmme7iow Jw2qgL5yK_M 3rMwc10uNOg

The Libertines - The Libertines (2004) 'White Pony' is an amazing album from Deftones, it is easily my favourite from them, I remember the first time I heard 'Back To School', I was blown away, just the shouting and distortedness of the track, it was amazing, and then of course 'Change (In The House of Flies)' and 'Digital Bath', and then the amazing guest vocals from Maynard James Keenan on 'Passenger'. 'The Ruff Guide To Genre Terrorism' is an outright amazing album, a mix of a load of genres, it is done perfectly, it sounds so punk yet it is hip hop but also ska, it is basically all my favourite genres thrown into one amazing album, a great mix of songs, it is a lot more unique and better than what most british bands come out with these days, this band is so underated, everyone should love them, they are f***ing good. 'The Libertines' was a brilliant follow up to 'Up The Bracket' it perhaps did not catch as much as the punkiness or raw sound but I love the album however, a lot of people dont seem to think much of it because of 'Up The Bracket' but I think it is an excellent album which really showed just how wonderful the chemistry was between Pete and Carl. l3JuL8BtIN8 BtEc8UkQ6Ec qLvLcioo86Y

Really like 'The Libertines' (underrated probably, it's not great but it's not as bad as I often see people say) and 'With Love and Squalor'. Found Lightspeed Champion's allbum ok but not great... You missed an oppotunity with Saul :o the album was free online when it was first out, infact you had the choice free download or $5 for higher quality files, Trent Reznor convinced him to do it ^_^ it was before Radiohead stole the idea and tried to be all innovative. But yeah Saul is real talent, he is what we need in hip hop.

Hundred Reasons - Kill Your Own (2006) 'This Is Not The World' is a great album that really reminded me just how much I love The Futureheads, as soon as I heard the first teaser track 'Broke Up The Time' I was insantly in love, and it was just so much better than 'News & Tributes', I dont think I listened to many other albums the first few weeks this was out, I was completly obsessed.'Iowa' is Slipknot's best album, just so heavy, it's possibly the album that got me into metal, I literally transisted from listening to 5ive, to listening to Slipknot through 'Left Behind', but then you hear the whole album and there is so many amazing tracks, 'People = $h!t', 'Diasterpiece', 'My Plague', 'The Heretic Anthem', 'Everything Ends'. I feel a bit in love with 'Kill Your Own', it really got me back into Hundred Reasons, I remember first hearing the title track, with the brilliant video and it blew me away a bit, I wasnt very responsive to the 'Shatterproof Is Not A Challenege' era, so it came as a surprise that this album completly restored my faith in the band, it was so much better than 'Ideas Above Our Station', I listened to 'Kill Your Own' a lot, I remember my paper round back then and i'd just listen to the album the whole time, I couldnt get enough of it. jFtSqsEhsIw PQbNYwUSdZw j0GEUtTJsqg

Be Your Own Pet - Be Your Own Pet (2006) Three good albums here, 'Still' is an amazing little album that came with Nine Inch Nails live album 'And All that Could Have Been', it has some NIN tracks in a 'deconstructed' fashion, just basic piano and guitar etc, and also has some new songs just to the album, such as the amazing 'And All That Could Have Been'. 'To The 5 Boroughs' is possibly one of my most played albums of the decade, was completly obsessed when it came out, was on a total Beastie Boys high, I couldnt get enough of them, and its a pretty good album, far from their best, 'Ch Ch Check It Out' still sounds fresh. 'Be Your Own Pet' is a brilliant fast album, 15 tracks in about half an hour, I still listen to it all the time now, I'm a massive fan of the band and I just love listening to this album. The release of this album completly came as a shock to me in 2008, with 'Ghosts I-IV' being released only about 2 months before, and 'Year Zero' being released just a year before, this is the same band who took seven years between the release of 'The Fragile' and 'With Teeth', and then one day I come online, do my usual stuff, check nin.com, woah, checked nin.com and there is a brand new album for free download, no promotion had happened, and here it was a whole new studio album from NIN, all new songs, it was amazing, immediately I downloaded and listened, and fell in love, all the different varying qualities of sound, this is what put NIN above Radiohead, with Radiohead's $h!tty 'pay what you want' scheme, they gave you the $h!ttest quality mp3's, and here was NIN offering their brand new album in the best qualities possible. mj9m9xNbVo0 ghOOmr578Wk yd0nIsGHIvc download The Slip for free: http://theslip.nin.com/

It wasnt long after which I purchased this album, and just plain fell in love with the band, as well as seeing them supporting RBF, at the time Reel Big Fish were one of my favourite bands, they still are to be fair but no where near as much, where as Streetlight have turned from this band i'll be seeing at the Reel Big Fish show to probaly in my top 3 or 5 bands ever, and it all started by hearing this album. cuuJRsBiPho 1YUtZ5y13o4 -IXR3ptOgbU
