wELL i have not listened/watched yet, im not sure what i will thinl of the abbey road sessions, i tink it will be a love or hate thing for me, where the live concert and live concert cd i know i will just love.

To be honest ... I thought I'd hate the Abbey Road Session ... I do like a big showy, show like they put on ... but it really is good. The harmonies are fabulous and Jason is very, very surprising. I mean ... I know he has a good voice (actually a very good voice) but he doesn't seem to realise it himself. Believe me ... I really wasn't fond of How Did It Come To This (the album version), on the tour it was better ... but the pacing on the AR Session is brilliant.

I never listen to How Did It Come To This on the album but I love it on the Abbey Road Session. Jason sings it so well but it's also the backing vocals - it just sounds so great and different to the album version.

I have to be honest ... I always skip it on the album too. And as it was on the Session ... I was in the kitchen doing some fried rice for tea! When I heard the first couple of bars I dropped what I was doing to listen ... I think it is going to be my favourite one from the session. It sounds the most acoustic ... and you're right about the backing vocals - they've never been better - and - massively different than the album version.

I have honestly never heard them sing better. I think its partly because they are so relaxed with each other. The Circus album and tour has done wonders for them and their confidence, especially Jason. You are right to save it for Christmas though - it will make it more special. Will you be getting the album on Friday?

I have the album pre ordered on play.com and again im keeping that for christmas aswell. I have been banging on about take that releasing a live album for so long now as its something i always wanted them to do as i think they are far far better live than they sound in studio versions, so this is an album i cant wait for.
I have it pre-ordered aswell but I may download it on Friday anyway. Listening to it may while away a bit of time on my very boring train journey to work. Will probably keep the CD anyway for the car.

I was also at the preview in Germany, very few people (but they made NO adv for it, even outside was no poster  ).

I still think BW was better, more intelligent and also the old songs were more on my taste. The Abbey Road is great, loved Julie and Shine  . And Norma, you are right, i hate HDDICTT on both album and tour but this version is great! The only one i don't like is still The Circus - i cannot go over my dissapointment with this song  . Even What is love is good (still wish Howard would have sung Here). They all sing so well, you won't believe it  .

I didn't think I'd like the medley from The Circus Tour (DWYL, Promises, IOTAM, TTAP) as apart from IOTAM - and only then from the UT and BW Tours - I hated all those songs ... but it was actually one of the most enjoyable bits (actually being there in the stadium - Old Trafford Cricket Ground - not Wembley). I actually love The Circus song ... and its better here on the Abbey Road session than on the tour or the original album ... having said that ... to me its the kind of song I'd love to hear in a huge West End production ... not as a pop song - so I sort of 50/50 agree with you. I only like WIL on the Tour - where it goes with the putting on of the make-up, etc. I don't really like it on the album or in the studio session. Loved Shine ... but as I said ... HDICTT is without doubt my favourite.

Special mentions too for the tour version and studio session version of Said It All. I'm in a quandarry now as to what my favourite song from the album is - HUAL is definitely very, very close to the top ... the only song I don't like still is Julie - and even then ... I like the tune ... its just that the words, to me, are still a load of old pants!

Husband is working late tomorrow so me and Lou are going to watch the whole tour tomorrow night (I've still only watched bits of it).

My fav on The Circus is still Up all night , i cannot help it - i love the words of it  . Very very close is now HUAL. And i still think i am the only person in the world loving Here :cheer: . Withe Greatest Day i have a love-hate relationship

I love Here and was a bit gutted that they weren't doing it on the tour. I can see why they did WIL though as it really worked with the whole theme of it

Hello is another one that I was surprised about but again it works.

Overall i still adore the circus and for me its the best album they have ever done by a million miles, for me it just ticked all the boxes. Initially i wasnt all that keen on greatest day and when i heard it i was like oh damn this album wont be anywhere near as good as beautiful world. Greatest day has really grown on me, and its song that definitly grew on people over time, and it pops back into the charts every now and again which is great and it sold quite decently in the finish, i think coming near 400,000 now but not sure. For me Up all night and Julie are the album highlights and they have been from the start, 2 very differnt songs but both brilliant in very different ways.(I know norma will hugely dis agree about julie!!!!)

Its such a strong album, the garden i adore aswell and how did it come to this continues to impress me more and more, said it all was not a song that i thought would have picked as a single but im glad it was as i appreciated it more and grew to like it more as ifeel it was a great radio song, but up all night to me was a classic radio song and such a happy song(still disapointed it didnt even mange top 10 when i was sure when i heard it first it would have went number 1, still it sold quite well for a top 20 hit)

The only down side of the circus for me is i have a feeling that any album in the future will disapoint me but on saying that, take that have such a great genuine talent as a group that i wouldnt bet against them coming up with a brilliant new album once again.

Im hugely excited about the live album asi have wanted it for so long, and seeing that so many circus songs are on it its probably the take that album that overtime i will listen to the most as i genuinly have such a love for live music, and no better band than take that to deliver a brilliant live cd.

Thanks Iris - that's fab news! I may post a link to this in the 'News' section ... its too good to hide away down here! Edit - I ended up just altering the title of the start of this thread to get the sales figure in.

Well we expected big sales and we got them, i can this selling near 150,000 by the end of the week, im delighted this has done so well as it genuinly deserve sto do well, i think the dvd doing so well will also help push sales for the live album aswell and possibly the circus, all this tied in with x factor using their songs this week will more than likely see take that have some chart domination once again in the coming weeks.

Thing is though, we never, ever get to see what the final sales are for the DVD's. We get the early - fabulous take off (and although we know that they remain good sales - for example the BW Tour DVD being number 1 for 10 weeks and inside the top 10 for another half a dozen) we never get to find out what the final sales are like.

They've made a hell of a lot of money for Polydor considering the label's modest investment in them!
