Take That's Gary Barlow is in talks to write the 2010 UK Eurovision entry, say reports.

The 'Never Forget' singer has been lined up to pen a track for Blue star Duncan James, claims The Sun.

James presented the UK voting results at this year's contest, where Jade Ewen finished fifth with Andrew Lloyd Webber's 'It's My Time'.

"The BBC is now hoping that someone like Gary with his great pop writing skills can help the UK go all the way," said an insider.

Im not so sure about this, eurovision is so so hard to get right, jade done very very well for the UK this year but alot of hard work and alot of promotion went into it she toured and toured to promote the song pre eurovision. Now dont get me wrong gray without doubt has the talent to come up with a great song, but they need a great singer who is willing to put an awful lot of work in, plus the chances of winning are slim to nothing with the way eurovision goes.

Well if its true and also true that Robbie is bezzie mates with Gaz ... this is the time to prove it! Rob .... TALK HIM OUT OF IT!!!!!!!

yes i would have to agree i think for gary to write a song the only way he would ever get away with getting a load of flack was if the UK won and i cant see that happening. so please dont do it gary.
I hope Gary will be enough pleased with his knight title and won't try this. As it will flop it will be a massive flop as the expectation will be huge . Eurovision is a rulette and only with a genial song like Rule the world you may have a chance.... (or with a very bland ballad like Serbia :naughty: )

Nothing from Britain will ever win. I agree with what a lot of posters have said over the years in the Eurovision forum - our whole attitude is wrong. We don't put as much effort into promoting a song (over a long period) like some other nations do. We write a song (usually crap) at the last minute and then accuse other nations of 'not liking us' when we lose.

To be fair i think Jade Ewen broke that trend as jade and andrew both out their heart and soul into eurovision this year and did so much promotion, and i did pay off, after so many years of dismal results jade finishing 5th with a very respectable score was a major achievment, so it does show if the work is out it and the song is good it can pay off. Maybe if the UK follow on from what jade did and try and push things even further next year they may finish top 3. Im not sure if gary is suited to eurovision nor will he have the time to dedicate at least 3-4 months of his time promoting the uk entry.
