Take That/Elton John theme for 'X Factor'

The X Factor final five will sing tracks by Take That and Elton John on Saturday, it has been confirmed.

 

Dannii Minogue revealed the news in a Twitter post, after a fan asked whether her act Stacey Solomon would be performing a Barbra Streisand number.

 

"I love Streisand and [stacey] can certainly sing those kind of huge songs, but I have to follow the theme! Elton/Take That this week!" she said.

 

All five remaining contestants - Lloyd Daniels, Joe McElderry, Stacey Solomon, Danyl Johnson and Olly Murs - will perform one track by John and one track by Take That. No song choices have yet been revealed.

 

Highlights from last year's Take That week included Alexandra Burke performing 'Relight My Fire', JLS singing 'A Million Love Songs', Eoghan Quigg's 'Never Forget' and Ruth Lorenzo's rendition of 'Love Ain't Here Anymore'.

 

Alicia Keys and Rihanna have previously been confirmed as the special guests for the Sunday results episode. Rihanna is rumoured to be acting as a guest mentor as well as singing her new single 'Russian Roulette'.

 

The X Factor continues next Saturday at 8pm on ITV1

 

Wht great timing, this will give take that a good sales boost and it its good promo for the live album as with people hearing take that songs on x factor it will keep their name fresh in their heads when visiting the cd shops.

 

What songs do you think they will use from take that??

 

Im assuming it will be 5 elton songs and 5 take that songs so the 5 take that songs i think that will be used are

Shine could possiblt be used over greatest day.

I think that Million Love Songs may be in there aswell. I think that Joe would sing that one really well.

Hope they don't do AMLS - I still don't like it (apart from Mike Stevens' sax). A brilliant song for a 15 year old to write but I just don't like it.

I really don't want anyone to do a Take That song that wasn't written by them ... so I'm hoping there's no CIBM or RMY.

 

If SIA is performed .... I'm hoping Stacey does it! It'll give her a chance to show all sides of her singing ... the softer bits that Gary sings and angst-ridden bits that Mark does.

I thik a million love songs could well be one that is performed but again i hope it isnt as its always a song that people seem to try and cover. I can llyod doing never forget as never forget always get a big choir and he needs a choir as cheryl knows only to well, but for me it doesnt matter what song he gets he will ruin it.

 

For me i think it could go like this

 

Stacey Patience

Danyl shine( as simon said he will be doing a lively song this week, so this if he doesnt do a lively elton song)

Ollie greatest day

Llyod never forget

Joe rule the world.
