July 6, 201014 yr I'm saying overall that a 4/10 is right for the franchise as a whole more than anything.... They're just NOT very good films, mind you, actual BOOKS aren't good either, so I guess you cant make a silk purse out a sow's ear anyway.... The whole concept of totally douchebag, wussy Vampires is simply ludicrous anyway... Vampires are KILLERS and UNUTTERABLY COOL AS FUKK creatures of the night, not a bunch of Sparkly Emo wimps, Angel may have had a soul, but it still didn't stop him kicking butt and being pretty BADASS.... And I find the Mormon subtext of the novels to be quite distasteful personally, given that that cult is itself pretty damned suspicious considering some of its practices (you know, such as marrying off teenage girls to "harems" with middle-aged men at the head).... I don't think vampiers have to be "KILLERS" and "UNUTTERABLY COOL AS FUKK" see: Let the Right One In. Not sure if it's a gay thing, but I find that I'm sensitive to an abundance of blatant masculinity/boyishness that is prevalent in so many films (mainly in the horror/action/vampire/whatever genre); it's an utter turnoff to me. What made Let the Right One In so successful for me was the fact that besides the inevitable disturbing elements that come with vampirism, it was quite a tender, intimate, and moving film. Not that I dislike gore, far from it (Kill Bill was a beautiful film), but I think it's easy to tell when it's being done because it's necessary to the story and when it's being done to pander to a straight male audience. Anyway, I don't necessarily think that simply by using vampires / a certain type of myth requires any sort of contexual requirement; these tales are meant to be twisted, reinvented, and done in ways that have not been done before. Twilight isn't really doing anything wrong by making vampires "Sparkly Emo wimps"; it's just by, in doing so, it's made for a pretty horrible/juvenile read. Twilight is terrible because of $h!tty plotlines, bad dialogue, bad writing, bad everything really. That being said, I saw The Last Airbender and it made Eclipse look like Schindler's List. Dear God. And Pav, no. Less is more sometimes.
July 6, 201014 yr I was just posting all i could see except really unfunny ones so that everybody could choose which they like.
July 6, 201014 yr Please delete every one of them except the last one, which did make me do a little wee in my pants.
July 6, 201014 yr Pavel, do you like Twilight or not? Because you don't seem to have enjoyed Eclipse, but I'm sure you had Jane in your signature around the time New Moon came out  Btw, some of those images/gifs are really good. I particularly like The 100-year-old virgin & the one with the horses

I particularly like The 100-year-old virgin & the one with the horses One half of me likes it, another doesn't :( I think it's a good story and everything but they do movies too fast. I'd rather wait and see something utterly stunning than have it like every half a year. Are there T-shirts with 'TEAM JANE'? Because it'd be totally unfair if there weren't any. She's the best character
July 7, 201014 yr Some of those icons are hilarious! I'm going to see Eclipse soon, hopefully it's better than the others. :kink:
July 7, 201014 yr I went to see it on Saturday at the advance screenings. I thought it was BRILLIANT. It was very quite at my local cinema, hardly anybody was there, which I was thankful for since I don't ever like crowded cinemas. :P It's definitely my favourite from the three so far. I loved the action scenes, especially at the end and I thought it was quite funny when Bella punched Jacob.

Twilight is terrible because of $h!tty plotlines, bad dialogue, bad writing, bad everything really. Angel and Spike were also pretty sensitive, they had the capacity for LOVE (Spike in particular giving up his Vampire ways to gain a soul because he genuinely loved Buffy and would do anything for her, just as he pretty much did anything for Drusilla...), but you never really forgot who and what they essentially were, they were VAMPIRES, they just had a certain amount of reinvention done to them.... Similarly Mitchell in Being Human, is an interesting character, a Vampire going "cold turkey" on blood and then becoming the leader and basically putting all the other vampires into "rehab"... Clever ideas, well thought out, and not in any way juvenile, wimpy or badly plotted... But then you're talking about PROPER writers doing Buffy/Angel and Being Human and not a fukkin' hack like Stephanie wotserface.... At least you had three really good Vampire books out of Anne Rice before it went a bit pear-shaped... TBH, I think you're right, my hositility towards Twilight is indeed the extremely toe-curling plotting and writing, it's frankly not even good enough to be considered "adolescent", the Harry Potter novels are streets ahead in terms of writing, characters and plotting (though far from perfect themselves), and they are considered books for adolescents, so, fukk only knows where Twilight comes in the intellectual scale... Pre-school...???
July 10, 201014 yr I loved Eclipse, definatley the best of the 3, and I shall be seeing it again! :D yep exactly right!
July 10, 201014 yr I don't even care to comment on this film as it was diabolical. The only thing I'd like to do is agree with Jark about JBone, he is GORGEOUS (and my ideal man in S Darko haha). As is that Australian guy that played Riley. Om nom nommmm.
July 11, 201014 yr How about you shut up. Well who wants to hear what you think of the film there is plenty of people who like the film and don't care what you have to say. She's entitled to post her opinion, just because you don't like/agree with it, doesn't mean that she's not allowed to post it. Calm yourself down. -_-
July 11, 201014 yr How about you shut up. Well who wants to hear what you think of the film there is plenty of people who like the film and don't care what you have to say. LOLZ. Twilight is horrific.
July 11, 201014 yr I actually really liked it but I still wasn't overwhelmed. It was a big step up and far superior to the previous two but that's because it's the best book. I am a fan but I'm still not 100% convinced that the series works as a movie imo. I shudder to think how they'll portray the last one. Breaking Dawn was the worst kind of fan fiction ever. It makes the flashforward chapter of The Deathly Hallows look amazing. Back to the film. Kudos to K.Stew though. She really is fantasic <3 And as much as I wish to bone RPatz, he is a bit bad as Edward Cullen but even he had genuine moments of good acting where I wasn't just looking at his facial features :o I loved the fight scene between the Cullens and the newborns. I wish there had been more of it. Also liked that the Cullen clan got more screentime. I know it was impossible due to them being out of the last book for a great part but I always love seeing them. ^_^ I also found the general flow of the story a lot quicker which I liked and the new Victoria was in Being Human right as Daisy? Or not  Edited July 11, 201014 yr by Painbow (Grami)
July 12, 201014 yr How about you shut up. Well who wants to hear what you think of the film there is plenty of people who like the film and don't care what you have to say. TWILOON ATTACK. Run for your life Twilight haters.
July 12, 201014 yr How about you shut up. Well who wants to hear what you think of the film there is plenty of people who like the film and don't care what you have to say. Excuse me, Cinema Forum MOD talking here, this is NOT a bloody "Twilight Bummers" forum, this is a Forum for people to talk about CINEMA and Films whether the posts are pro or anti the film in question or not... You attacked Chemical Halo for no good reason... What the hell is with you bloody Twilight fanboys, why are you so unbelievably intolerant to any alternative opinion on the object of your obsession....? You have the right to to think it's wonderful if you want, but Chemical Halo has the right to say it sucks.... I'm gonna clear this thread of crap... But everyone be aware, I'm gonna be scrutinising this thread now for anything out of line... Anyone steps out of line, they're gonna get warnings....
July 12, 201014 yr LOLZ. Twilight is horrific. I almost tried to 'like' this. :(. Ew. To be fair I don't even hate it. I like to pretend I hate it then secretly go and watch it with brewing excitement, but it leaves me with no opinion. It's just like sitting through an oblivion of...nothing-ness. Ha.
