Slow Club - Christmas TV (2008)

Kicking off the chart is Sheffield duo Slow Club, their 2009 debut album really is quite something and this is the standout track on the album. The simple guitar part really compliments the two singers voices and when they harmonise, magic happens. :kink:

The Sound of Arrows - M.A.G.I.C. (2009)

Up next is the first of 4 Swedish entries in the top 45, this song was first introduced to me in BJSC XIII and the first time I heard it I knew it was something special. The enchancting music and hypnotic chanting really make this an outstanding track.

Kelly Clarkson - Because Of You (2004)

Kelly Clarkson is at #43 with the first of her two entries on the chart, this is also the first song to have charted inside the UK Top 40, but don't worry chart fans, there're still a further 25 UK Top 40 Hits to come :lol:. Anyway, this was the song that made me love Kelly and the song that convinced me to by Breakaway, a truly good album.

AySel- Say Maybe (2009)

Up next is the first of two entries from Azerbaijan's brightest young pop-star AySel. This song perfectly blends Azerbaijani folk music with Western Pop and, with a HQ version hopefully being made available soon, it's definitely one of my songs of the decade.

Avril Lavigne - My Happy Ending (2004)

Avril Lavigne's at #41 with the first of two entries for her, I'd definitely describe her as one my favourite artists from the first decade of my life and this song really has to rank among her best, her Under My Skin album is still sensational.

Lily Allen - The Fear (2009)

Next up is the first of 4 UK #1s on my chart, Lily Allen with The Fear. The song spend a month at the top of the UK charts, as well as my personal chart, earlier this year and really kick started the campaign for an amazing album from Lily.

Little Boots - Remedy (2009)

Little Boots was dubbed the Sound of 2009, unfortunately it never really happened for her, with this amazing pop stormer being the highlight of her year, peaking at #6. The radio edit of this song is just incredible and even if she doesn't have a long career, I think this'll be remembered as one of the pop gems of the decade.

Duffy - Warwick Avenue (2008)

Coming in at #38 is the artist who defined 2008, Duffy, with the first of two entries. Warwick Avenue was her second UK top 3 hit and I think it's obvious why, amazing vocals, great lyrics and a fantastic melody.

Lady GaGa - Poker Face (2008)

Up next is the biggest selling single of 2009, the pop-perfection that is Poker Face, Just Dance launched her career but this really was the first taster of full on GaGa, what a song :wub: In my quest to find embed-able videos I've used the accoustic version :P

Sandi Thom - The Pink And The Lily (2008)

OK, so I'm proving Rich right by having another recent song :P But I promise there are some none 07,08 and 04 ones coming up :lol:. Sandi Thom's first album was a huge hit, but rubbish and her second was a flop but amazing. This song really is something special and far and away the best thing she's done, shame she's been doomed to obscurity.
