I much preferred Sandi's first album to her second! I saw her live in 2006, it was quite odd for many different reasons  The Devil's Beat was incredibly good though

Velvet
- Take My Body Close (2008)

At #35 we have the first of two for Swedish Pop goddess Velvet, whose 2009 album The Queen spawned 5 top 20 hits in her home land. This song is just pop perfection, it's euro-pop at its best.

Laura Marling
- Night Terror (2007)

From perfect pop to fantastic folk, with the amazing Laura Marling coming in at #34 with the incredible Night Terror, this is the first song not from 04,08 or 09 and really is the standout track from a phenomonal debut album (watch out for that later btw ;)).

Now the 2007 folk has started it just can't stop and up next is Amy MacDonald with the #28 UK single This Is The Life, seriously this song just has the most amazing melody, look out for Amy's album later on in the album chart!

Britney Spears
- Toxic (2003)

Probably the most embarrassing song on my chart from probably the most controversial pop star of the decade, this song is a gem in her glittering collection and was a really deserved #1 hit.

Fleet Foxes
- Mykonos (2008)

Something about the Fleet Foxes is just mystifying, perhaps it's their vocal harmonies or just their amazing songs. Most the time you can't understand what they're saying but that's irrelevant when they come up with songs like this

surely Sandi Thom's more embarrassing than the iconic pop song that is Toxic :kink:

Same Difference
- We Are One (2008)

Sorry for the break, my run in Guys and Dolls kind of took over, anyway, we return with a piece of pop perfection from the cheesiest act of the latter 00's, Same Difference. Their album was surprisingly strong and this song deserved so much more than #13.

Same Difference

the song peaked at #3 for me iirc :o the album was shockingly great too, I agree! I still don't understand how Britney's Toxic is the most embarrassing song here when Same Difference are in the countdown :kink:

Velvet
- The Queen (2009)

Up next is seasoned Melodifestivalen flop Velvet with her storming hit The Queen. This song really is something special and Europop at its best, this is the second and final entry from her.

ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!!!

Except The Same Difference as i haven't watched X-Factor back then and Velvet stuff (I think she's average).

Laura Marling, Fleet Foxes, Britters (this song only), Amy McDonald  I feel like i'm in MY chart of the decade! <3

Ana Free
- In My Place (2008)

Now onto my favourite Portugese artist of all time, Ana Free. I was addicted to this song in late 2008 early 2009 and it really is just great, at first it doesn't seem anything special, but it really stands out to me.

#43 Kelly Clarkson - Because Of You (2004)

#41 Avril Lavigne - My Happy Ending (2004)

#40 Lily Allen - The Fear (2009)

#39 Little Boots - Remedy (2009)

#37 Lady GaGa - Poker Frace (2008)

#33 Amy MacDonald - This Is The Life (2007)

#32 Britney Spears - Toxic (2003)

By far Toxic is the best song there. What a classic. Nice countdown

Annet Artani
- Alive (2009)

This song could be the epitome of generic, but generic at its best, this storming anthems chronicles the typical woman in a bad relationship but she comes out stronger theme. But nevertheless I love it .

You seem to be really loyal to your BJSC entries :P

LIGHTS
- Ice (2008)

Up next is a truly amazing pop song, Ice. LIGHTS 2009 album was quite disappointing, but this song bucked the trend, maybe it stood out so much because of how poor the rest of the album is . Actually, it's not too bad :P there're quite a few good tracks.

I am, I wouldn't enter a song if I didn't love it :P

5 of my entries have been #1 this year for me and 2 #2 :P

and two of mine for you #1 :kink: nothing from 2000-2002 or 2005-2006 here :o

ha at your Lights analysis - the album really is just musical nothingess to me - every song blends into one, and I've tried and tried to get into it but it hasn't happened apart from maybe 3 or 4 decent songs which I already knew from the EP :(
