I think it's a terrible idea. Great way to imply that people should vote for the country and not the song - among other things.

Really? I think it's a bad idea mostly because it encourages people to vote before they've heard all of the songs - it allows for snap decisions without all of the evidence there (well, I suppose also the whole country-voting thing too). It does give them more profits though as people 'rectify' their mistakes...

It's been brought up in this forum before but i think it's kind of good! Now first performing songs could at least stand a CHANCE :( Plus i think that most people vote in the end anyway and will be only voting in the middle only if it's their absolute fave or something...

BTW nobody from my mates who watch ESC vote in it anyway LOL.

Well.. this happen in every talents show etc. in Norway, and it have worked perfectly since :)

I think it's a bad idea overall, but I doubt it will make too much difference. I won't exactly have time to vote in the middle, I'll be too busy watching the performances, so I will still wait until after they've shown the recap once, as normal. I will know my favourites before the night, but I will phone for my top 10, based on my scorecard the BBC Eurovision website offers.

But it could've helped people like Scooch. People would've been drunk by that time, and might just phone up because....well, they're drunk and might think they like it.

I never vote until I've seen all of the live performances anyway - or else I would have gone for Hero over Hold On Be Strong last year

but Maria put on a performance 100 times better than the hideous presentation of Hero

You vote for ten songs?!?!!

I always end up voting for Armenia, Turkey or Malta

Well I did this year. Each country gives points to their top 10, so I vote for my top 10. Oh, and that's 10 in both the final & semi, so 20 overall each year ;)

:o :o :o :o

I guess the best way is to give 12 votes to the first place, 10 - to the 2nd place etc :kink:

I vote for 3 at a very maximum.

I've never voted for more than three, it's far too expensive via mobile phone...

That would be 58 votes for one show - 116 if you combine the final and a semi-final. 50p per call from my mobile = £58 :o I'll only do that if you pay my phone bill :P

Only £10 a year for 20 votes, that's not too bad

I don't really like this idea... I suppose it sort of gives an equal advantage to those countries singing towards the start of the show though. But then I quite liked the recap being in reverse order (2002/3) which somewhat solved that issue!

Well.. If it dosn't work in 2010, they have at least tried, but as I've said...

This is working REALLY good in Norway.. Idol, X Factor, Norway Got Talent... :)

i thik its a good idea coz ppl will pick up the fone after evry sing they like, instead of forgetting about a song....
I'm not so sure :P Most people will vote before hearing all the songs, as lots of people don't buy the CD/follow national finals :kink:

Agreed. There's always one song I forget to vote for.

How? There is a recap every time! :o
If you forget to vote for a song, you obviously don't like it enough to vote for it, otherwise you'd remember it :P
Eh, no. The recap can kill songs. That allows people like me to forget one because that certain track doesn't translate well into a five second snippet. :P The 2009 recap curse for me was Denmark.
