I've heard two rumours today:

Rumour #1

Could Russia become part of the big 4, and also get automatic qualification to the final?

Rumour #2

And could the EBU be shortening the voting process by letting the finalists vote normally, but semi-finalists get combined into one big "super-vote"?

Personally, I hope they are both false! Especially the second one

I think the voting process is too short :manson:

I remember the times we used to watch the voting process for hours!

both is probably false

I highly doubt either is right. The semi finalists would have something to say about this 'super vote'

Melodifestivalen type of vote?

I hope the first one is true :kink:

If the super-vote one becomes true, I think they will re-start reading out all points again so it isn't too short.

And I don't think Russia need to skip the semi-final, as they will always qualify anyway (or possibly not if they send an awful song, give the 50/50 in semi's now). They should give Andorra a free pass to the final for at least one year.

Rumour #3

There is a rumour that YCNY will start after "So You Think You Can Dance" (in late February?), with the final being in March, just in time for the deadline to submit entries.

The first rumour (that rehearsals start on January 16th) was from ESCKaz, who have been very reliable lately, but it is included with a mention of the rumour about Gary Barlow & Duncan James. The BBC is meant to have a press release tomorrow with details for Week #3 of 2010, so if the rumour about January 16th is true, that would be include in that press release.

Rumour #4

Could the rehearsal time for the actual contest be cut down? This would probably mean one of the dress rehearsals being axed, and so delegations don't need to spend as much time in Oslo and it reduces costs.

My opinion: Even if this isn't confirmed, I think the EBU could certainly be discussing the possibility. Don't think it should matter too much.

Lol, they have had 3-4 months to rehearshal in their country :P

but still.. the week before the final is traditional :snif:
