I was browsing on youtube and i found these two songs:

 

Cabin Crew - Star to Fall

 

Sunset Strippers - Falling Stars

 

I know that the original track is some old single from 80's but these two remixes are exactly the same. I can't find any info about them. Does somebody know which was released first?

They were both released in March 2005 - Sunset Strippers got to #3 and Cabin Crew got to #4!

 

It's happened a few other times. December 2000 saw two almost identical releases based on a sample from the film Blade, Public Domain's 'Operation Blade' and Warp Brothers' 'Phatt Bass'. Warp Brothers got to #9 but Public Domain got to #5 and sold loads more.

 

Then in early 2006 there were two remixes of the Baywatch theme - the hit was 'I'll Be Ready' by Sunblock which got to #3, but there was also 'Phat Beach' by Naughty Boy which only got to #36. I guess you could call it a sample war or something...
