I might have a go at the odds myself;

Norway 3/1 - Certainly the most anthemic song here - they might do the double but it won't be a landslide

Turkey 5/1 - Turkey literally always do well, and there's no way this will flop, it's catchy with a wide appeal, bookies are severly underrating it

Greece 7/1

Ireland 7/1 - won't rule this out until I've seen the draw...

Sweden 8/1 - Anna might Yohanna it yet!

Romania 8/1 - very contemporary, I don't realistically see it winning but I can't see it missing the top ten

Armenia 10/1 - would be a bit of a weak winner, but it's certainly catchy and has a chance - the production lacks something though

Azerbaijan 10/1 - will elaborate more once they've picked but it looks promising!

Belgium 12/1 - I seriously see this as a dark horse, it's very different to everything else, and quite gorgeous after a few listens

Croatia 12/1

Germany 15/1 - this deserves to come top 5 but Germany's risks literally never pay off and I think her voice might turn more than a few people off :(

Moldova 15/1

Bosnia-Herzegovina 20/1 can't elaborate obviously until I've heard the entry

Serbia 20/1 see above

Israel 20/1 see above

Denmark 25/1 it has a slim outside chance but I really do think this is far too 'old-skool' to have a realistic chance to win

Slovakia 25/1

---------------------------------------

Cyprus 35/1

Switzerland 35/1

Finland 35/1

Iceland 40/1 great but schlager/Europop died a long time ago in ESC

Spain 40/1

Bulgaria 40/1

Malta 60/1 - although it's apparently getting a rehaul which could add some oomph to it

Latvia 60/1

Estonia 75/1

Belarus 75/1

Georgia 75/1

France 100/1 - not chosen yet but a world cup anthem? WTF

Slovenia 100/1

Portugal 100/1

Lithuania 100/1

Albania 100/1

Netherlands 100/1

United Kingdom 100/1

Russia 150/1

Ukraine 150/1

Poland 200/1

FYR Macedonia 200/1

Realistic possible winners above the line...

I always use oddschecker, as they seem to have the average odds, and on the day of the final, top 3 went Norway, Greece, UK. Never checked during the show though, as I don't like to miss too much ESC.

I'm not a big fan of "My Heart Is Yours", but I wouldn't might Norway winning again as they seem to be doing a good job of hosting so far. Lovely artwork, presenters that look good....all I want now is the stage design. Must be coming soon, surely

Just think...were we sending Jade and Andrew this year, I think United Kingdom 2011 would be near guaranteed!

Suppose it's not too late. Didn't ALW say last year that he wrote "It's My Time" in a couple of hours? So it wouldn't take long to write another song, get Jade to learn it, and have everything done within a week, ready for when the songs need submitting to the EBU on 22nd March :P

Or better still, maybe we could steal "Kom" :kink:

Israel top of the odds now...wouldn't be that great a winner for me, it's not anthemic enough.

Azerbaijan second, Denmark's retro ESC throwback third, Norway fourth and Croatia fifth...

Ireland have the same odds as the UK at 33/1 with William Hill  Other than being the host entry which will inevitably provoke hype, I fail to see how Didrik's song is much better than Niamh's

Oh it IS anthemic imo! Israel rarely disappoint  I can't believe this has a better chance to do in the contest than Boaz

I would be dissepointed if Isreal won this year :(

2009 >>>> 2008 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 2010

I can't say I've been overly in love with any of them...(Shiri 2005 was their most stunning for me )

Me and my Israelic friend walked around a sung 'There Must Be Another Way' last spring

It really grow on me and became one of my favorite song of all time :D

There is nothing wrong with the Israeli entry, but it would be a disappointing winner for me, as even though this isn't a great year, I still think there are much better songs

I agree that Israel would be a very disappointing winner. The song is even less memorable than Molitva.

I think Norway have a better chance than Ireland purely because Didrik has a more striking and powerful voice. His song had a bigger impact on me than Niamh's on first listen. Plus Norway will enevitably have friendly votes from all over the Scandi countries whereas Ireland have just the UK, and maybe the Albanian jury who were so reliable in 2007 :kink: .

I'm sure the Albanian jury must have only listened to the studio versions of the songs as the basis of their votes  they can't have given that mauling points on merit of the live performance!

Don't the jury listen to the dress rehearsal? In which case, maybe the vocal wasn't so bad then

Also, I heard somewhere that the clips in the recap are the dress rehearsal - is there any truth in that?

In the late 1990s and early 2000s they definitely were, but I think that changed a few years ago and they can now put together the recap very quickly using the actual performances.

Also, Azerbaijan have now overtaken Israel as favourites.

Yeah I noticed that when I was watching the entire 2001 contest last night, as when they show Lindsay's clip in the recap, it's at the same part as her 'dud' note was in the live performance, but in the recap she sings it perfectly.

Good :D I think it's inevitable that they're going to win sooner rather than later what with the momentum they've been building up. For a country I wasn't aware had any notable impact on the international music scene before they entered Eurovision, they certainly know how to play the game, at least in comparison to some of their neighbouring and close countries that seem unable to step away from dated dad rock.

Before ESC 2008, I wasn't aware that their was a country called Azerbaijan at all
