April 1, 201015 yr Germany have ousted Azerbaijan from the top of William Hill's odds too :o Never saw this coming, I thought it would be another year of 'another valiant effort, top 15 at best' for Germany but I can't help but think that its 150k record breaking sales in Germany have something to do with it - that doesn't necessarily translate that every other country will love it as much. I know it's the biggest market behind the UK though, I guess if Josh suddenly flew to #1 here with a massive sale () UK's odds would shorten as well. Maybe it's another Corinna May situation, she was favourite in 2002 and look what happened :drama: hope not though, as I love oh love Satellite  I found my Fairytale (maybe not quite as good though :P)!
April 1, 201015 yr Germany are also the 3/1 faves with paddy powers aswell, i remember germany also being faveourite in 1994 and i think thye came 5th in the end with Mikado.
April 2, 201015 yr Wir Geben 'ne Party! Hell of a tune! I wouldn't mind a German victory, certainly over Azerbaijan anyway :drama:
April 4, 201015 yr Germany have now moved up from 14/1 to 10/1 on paddy powers, and annoyingly turkey are 25/1 and were 20/1, i but an each way bet on turkey with 20/1 odds.
April 5, 201015 yr Author Germany have now moved up from 14/1 to 10/1 on paddy powers, and annoyingly turkey are 25/1 and were 20/1, i but an each way bet on turkey with 20/1 odds. Germany are 3/1 on Paddy Power, and have been up there for some time. :o Or did you mean someone else?
April 14, 201015 yr Betfair now has Germany and Azerbaijan tied at 5.1 :o I expect we won't get a clear picture of whether Lena or Safura has the edge until we see the rehearsals - I get the feeling that Azerbaijan'll have the better stage show.

I'm still not certain that either of these two are the winner, despite them easily being my favourites. Safura will easily have the better stage show, I heard that Lena's will be the same as on Unser Star Fur Oslo more or less, and she looked a bit uncomfortable at times during that performance. Azerbaijan will as always pull out all the stops! I'm getting an overwhelming feeling that I should put some money on Croatia
April 14, 201015 yr Azerbaijan will obviously have the better stage show, Beyonce's choreographer is working with Safura :o
April 14, 201015 yr Please don't crucify me for this, I love the song, but I have a feeling that Germany is being a *teeny* bit overrated... I can see it top 5 (just about) but I just think it's too different to be a winner. I like your thinking with Croatia Rich, I think Romania might be one to watch too...

I can see it top 5 (just about) but I just think it's too different to be a winner. I like your thinking with Croatia Rich, I think Romania might be one to watch too... Oh I'm in no doubt about that. I love it hugely but I can't see it winning, Germany have a history of being ridiculously overrated even in recent years (Corinna May/Texas Lightning :snif:). I'm about to put my bets on now. Romania's song is the most contemporary song here, but I'm not sure how it will work in Eurovision as it doesn't paritcularly feel like 'a Eurovision song' if you catch my drift  No point putting money on either Germany or Azerbaijan unless their odds start to drift nearer to the contest.
April 19, 201015 yr Some changes in the odds...Azerbaijan are now joint favourites with Germany at 11/4, Denmark have dropped off a bit to 14/1, Romania are down to 80/1, no bookies seem to think this has any chance to come top 10 - very bizarre :o
April 22, 201015 yr Hearing "Satellite" being played on Radio 1 by Scott Mills makes me think that Germany have this in the bag :o
April 22, 201015 yr I kinda get the feeling, that with the addition of even more judging action/power along with very few hard hitting songs imo (compared to last year anyway) that all bets could be off this year. I think we might have the first surprise/somewhat surprise eurovision has had in a long while..... At the very least I can't see a Fairytale type runaway victory.... April 22, 201015 yr Hmm... I didn't see Molitva OR Believe win.. Both were the bookies favourites I think, well Molitva was in the top three anyway, Believe was certainly the favourite. The last shocker was Lordi I reckon who were predicted mid-low top ten by most bookies, the most REAL shocker was I suppose 2000/2001/2002...three completely unexpected winners, both Olsen Brothers and Tanel & Dave had odds as low as 150/1 just prior to the contest
April 22, 201015 yr Hmm... I didn't see Molitva OR Believe win.. Both of them were bookies favourites, I saw both of them winning/doing very well. I didn't really see Lordy winning.....although that may have been because I didn't really pay attention any odds back then. :P
April 26, 201015 yr Author Hearing "Satellite" being played on Radio 1 by Scott Mills makes me think that Germany have this in the bag :o It's been getting Radio 1 airplay? :o I'd quite like a German win...would certainly make a change!
April 26, 201015 yr Hmm... I didn't see Molitva OR Believe win.. In 2007 I hadn't heard any of the songs before the night or seen the odds and I was sure that Molitva would win :o In 2008 I thought Believe would win too, but I wouldn't have been surprised to see 'Shady Lady' or 'Secret Combination' win. And obviously in 2009 EVERYBODY thought Fairytale would win . This year I'm seeing an Azerbaijan win, but I'll reserve my judgment until after the semis :o.
April 26, 201015 yr It's been getting Radio 1 airplay? :o I'd quite like a German win...would certainly make a change! Just the one play. It wasn't even played in full. Scott was making fun of the lyrics and her pronunciation, and was talking over it a bit, but yes, it got played all the same :D
