I don't mind Everybody In Love. At first I thought it was cheesy, but it's grown on me a bit now.

I like JLS. They seem like decent people.

I'm not into the music though.

I liked 'Beat Again' but 'Everybody In Love' was really overplayed on my local Radio Stations.

they are very manufactured, all x-factor acts are. they go through the process of being told what to sing, how to dance and what to say. their songs go through the machine to create a radio friendly "hit" but these safe forgettable tracks sound generic bland, watered down R'n'B music. actually ts not R'n'B if you compare it to the decade of true R'n'B of the 90s. none of them have distinctive stand out voices with any personality or quirks. they are the epitome of average. over hyped and over rated.

another problem is their appeal is limited to teenage girls under the age of 16 maybe 98% of their fans are girls. and teenage girls are notoriously shallow and emotional when it comes to boybands. image and fancying them comes first. thats the hook. they are doing well cause they are filling a gap, we have a generation of teenage girls that have been successfully targeted with this boyband. i don't think anyone over 16 is really into them so don't be surprised by the response on here.

I actually really like them. They're a refereshing change from what's about in the charts at the moment. They've all likeable personalities and their album is actually a pretty solid pop album. There's a few not-so-good tracks but in pop albums of this nature that's always the case. I don't think their sounds out-dated at all - a little cheap at times.. maybe. But their album is pretty good, a guilty pleasure of mine it must be said. Not suprised at how many people don't like them on BJ though...
Beat Again is a total guilty pleasure for me. I have to admit, I love how some of the people being snobbish and dismissive about them in this thread have signatures with the ultra-credible and sophisticated Girls Aloud, Kelly Clarkson and even N-Dubz. :P

Frankly, I just love the fact they're a 90s boyband throwback i.e. they don't make any secret of the fact their success depends on them taking their tops off every 5 minutes. None of this not-so-subtle $h!t like Blue where they'd get "accidentally" caught changing in some bushes by the paparazzi, or where they'd decide it was an incredibly groundbreaking idea to set a video on a beach where they'd just incidentally happen to get hot.

I was being a little facetious with this comment, but in all honesty, I do think people in this thread are applying double standards. They're being snobbish by saying JLS are only successful because teenage girls have crushes on them (and there's no denying that's where a lot - probably the majority - of their sales have come from), but the reality is that sex appeal is just the way pop has gone (again) in the last year or two, for better or for worse. I mean, Pixie Lott's entire shtick is being fit, and she's got two #1s out of it. And, although Lady GaGa has more substance to her, there's no denying that a lot of her success has come from the fact she's overtly-sexual (even if a lot don't actually think she's sexy herself). So it's hardly like JLS are the only ones selling on the basis of how they look.

and for all the people saying Poor robbie do you noe what he said about jls and hes got a really big ego theres no poor robbie in this convo

To be fair Robbie (and that's Robbie with a capital 'R' thank you very much!) has been in the game for almost 20 years, worked extremely hard to get where he is and sold a hell of a lot of records to become one of the biggest selling artists of all time in the UK. If he has an ego then at least he's earnt it. To me, JLS seem very big headed already when they haven't really done anything yet. And what's with the little one? Why is he doing backflips all the time?

I like a good boyband as much as the next person (I am a Take That fan after all) and I don't care how manufactured music is as long as I enjoy it. I didn't mind them on X Factor and I even enjoyed Beat Again but Everybody In Love is really boring and they're easily the most irritating band around at the moment.
