Posted December 30, 200915 yr This is very late, as its taken me ages to rank all the songs, at one point it was a top 200, then a top 100, then a top 10, etc.... However, I have decided to go for a top 50, as that keeps the real gravy in, and not have the average songs you've picked out of a hat at number 74 onwards. I'll also probably do a top 10 albums of the year aswell.. Enjoy ^_^ Top 50 Songs Of 2009 |31| Ke$ha - TiK ToK | Peak On Chart #3 |32| Miley Cyrus - Party In The USA | Peak On Chart #8 |33| Girls Aloud - Untouchable | Peak On Chart #1 |34| Florence & The Machine | You've Got The Love | Peak On Chart #10 |35| Tinchy Stryder feat. Amelle - Never Leave You Edited January 2, 201015 yr by Dayyveee!!!
December 30, 200915 yr Author |50| Tinchy Stryder feat. Amelle - Never Leave You | Peak On Chart #2 jFSO9B1K_xw Kicking us off at #50 we have the first of two entries from Tinchy Stryder and the first of three entires of Amelle, 'Never Leave You' at first seemed EPIC, but then it got boring quickly, but it's still good enough to be in the top 50.
December 30, 200915 yr Author |49| Cheryl Cole feat. will.i.am - 3 Words | Peak On Chart #2 vfiWXIQ85ho Number 49 gives us the first of three entries from Cheryl Cole and the first of FOUR entries from will.i.am. '3 Words' is very experimental, and sounds like nothing else at the moment, on my first few listens it seemed like a boring plod of a song, but after a while, it grows, and the charm of the song shines through. Cracking video too, not too keen on some of her outfits though, as she's obv not GaGa
December 30, 200915 yr Author |48| Florence & The Machine - Drumming Song | Peak On Chart #9 boo2Zm69fhY Our Florence is at 48 with the first of three entries. Florence is probably my favourite new artist of 2009, (I'm counting GaGa as 2008). 'Drumming Song' is a totally epic song and should have done much better than 54 :/
December 30, 200915 yr Author |47| Britney Spears - 3 | Peak On Chart #5 QubWKLQUrN0 Britney is at 47 with, '3'. Like 'Gimme More' and 'Womanizer', I thought the song was total sh!t when I first heard it, but of course, it grew rapidly. Although its nowhere near as good as either of those songs. Video is total crass aswell, but the intro music is FIERCE <3
December 30, 200915 yr Author |46| Sugababes - Get Sexy | Peak On Chart #1 nS8xiUlYNO0 The last ever Sugababe song featuring Keisha is at 46, 'Get Sexy' takes the classic 'I'm Too Sexy!' song, and puts a 'current' spin on it. Twas amazing a few months ago, and it sort of still is. Hardly their finest moment though, and such a shame that it was the song Keisha went out on. On the other hand, at least is wasn't that riveting 'No Can Do' thing :/
December 30, 200915 yr Author |45| Mini Viva - Left My Heart In Tokyo | Peak On Chart #1 RvjML3-66SA At 45, we have new girlband, Mini Viva, with the mega catchy 'Left My Heart In Tokyo'. I just love the bit where it ends...and then it kicks in again <3 Shame the also brilliant follow up, 'I Wish' recently stormed the charts :(
December 30, 200915 yr Author |44| P!nk - Please Don't Leave Me | Peak On Chart #3 n9yay4PX0OA It wouldn't be a countdown without P!nk, she's part of the furniture. 'Please Don't Leave Me' is an awesome song, with an awesome video, sung in an awesome way by an awesome singer. Awesome.
December 30, 200915 yr Author |43| Alicia Keys - Doesn't Mean Anything | Peak On Chart #3 fEd7qwqfSlo Not quite, 'No One' or 'If I Ain't Got You', but still a cracking song all the same, Alicia Keys is at 43 with, 'Doesn't Mean Anything'. The video is just a touch random, and the song lacks that 'epicness' of her classics, but it still deserves its place. Her performance on X Factor was mega, while her next single is a total gem <3 Expect another Alicia entry further up :D
December 30, 200915 yr Author |42| Britney Spears - If You Seek Amy | Peak On Chart #3 podSwaNge7E Another Britters song at 42, 'If You Seek Amy'. I saw her on tour this year, twas mega <3 although she didn't do much :kink: 'Womanizer' was amazing though :w00t: but that song was from last year. Edited December 30, 200915 yr by Dayyveee!!!
December 30, 200915 yr Author |41| Leona Lewis - Happy | Peak On Chart #1 9c-4z5H43F0 Just missing out on the top 40 is my beloved Leona  The reason she is missing out is because the song is dull, its very well crafted, but its dull. The album is squadrons better though :D
January 1, 201015 yr Author |40| Pixie Lott - Boys & Girls | Peak On Chart #2 dzCZx6yTYzA Not one of my favourite new artists of the year, Pixie Lott's only entry in my top 50 is 'Boys & Girls' at number 40. This is a cracking pop song, even if it does sound a lot like a certian Rihanna song. A fun song, and is one of the best pop song of the year, fierce video too :D
January 1, 201015 yr Author |39| La Roux - In For The Kill | Peak On Chart #2 JZ1Mi77nogQ At first this sounded like a total ear-rape, with her wailing voice and all. But it grew slowly, and is a very catchy addition to the year. Elly herself annoys me though. Expect another entry from them later on!
January 1, 201015 yr Author |38| Noisettes - Never Forget You | Peak On Chart #1 LSOnfhyov-w When I first heard it I thought it was an old hit from the 90s that was forgetten, such a gorgeous song though  Another Noisettes song higher up Edited January 1, 201015 yr by Dayyveee!!!
January 1, 201015 yr Author |37| Jay-Z feat. Alicia Keys - Empire State Of Mind | Peak On Chart #4 0UjsXo9l6I8 Total tuneage! End of.
January 2, 201015 yr Author |36| Lily Allen - The Fear | Peak On Chart #1 q-wGMlSuX_c Lily Allen is at 36 with the quite epic 'The Fear'. It should be much higher up, but I overplayed it :( Another Lily song is on its way though ^_^
January 2, 201015 yr Author |35| Tinchy Stryder feat. N-Dubz - Number One | Peak On Chart #1 Tc7W8Q-g9Lg How did Tinchy Stryder and N-Dubz :puke: create such an amazing song? Total brilliance! Edited January 2, 201015 yr by Dayyveee!!!
January 2, 201015 yr Author |34| Florence & The Machine | You've Got The Love | Peak On Chart #10 mzMcNAe4nE8 Second entry for Flo  I love the song; its covered most years, but this version is truly EPIC! The radio/video version isn't as good as the one on the album though. FloMac shall be appearing again later on :D
January 2, 201015 yr Author |33| Girls Aloud - Untouchable | Peak On Chart #1 EqeCjWzNmeU Yes, I keep saying EPIC! but this really is  I've lowered its position because a) its from last year and B) the radio/video version did remove most of the best parts :(
January 2, 201015 yr Author |32| Miley Cyrus - Party In The USA | Peak On Chart #8 M11SvDtPBhA I don't think many people were expecting Miley to create a TUNE! Catchy, fun, lively and what a great hook! I also love how she tweaks the lyrics when she performs it 'GaGa song was on' :D Edited January 2, 201015 yr by Dayyveee!!!
