Hey Richard :D

Things are pretty good at the moment. Looking forward to tonights celebrations bringing in 2010 - let's just hope 2010 is a good year (2009 was a bit meh so hopefully next year will be better).

I'm hopeful for 2010 too, 2009 has been terrible for me all things considered, topped off by my dog Poppy, who was nearly 11, dying on Christmas Day :( but we got a new puppy two days ago, the house was empty without a dog.

Great start to your chart, glad to see Jungle Drum in there

Sorry to hear about your dog. :( It's terrible when a pet you're so fond of dies, but to die on Christmas day must be devestating. I've never had pets of my own (I have an illergy to cat and dog hairs!!! -_- So I get a rash on my neck if a cat or dog comes near me). Sounds funnier than it actually is. Your new puppy will be sure to keep you active for a long time coming. :D

http://vibewaves.brinkster.net/europe/2009/ladygaga-paparazzi.jpg 20. Lady GaGa - Paparazzi [137 pts] [pk #1]

Kicking off the top 20 of 2009 is Lady GaGa who has dominated my chart all year bagging four no. 1 singles along the way. The first to make its appearance is 'Paparazzi' which hit the top spot in July.

The recently crowned new no. 1 in the US Billboard Hot 100 peaked at no. 2 in my chart in October. Currently no. 2 on UK iTunes, 'TiK ToK' could well be looking set for its highest peak to date this Sundat in the UK charts (previous best peak being #5 and midweeks show Ke$ha at #4). After being the featured vocalist on Flo-Rida's 'Right Round', Kesha Rose Sebert looks set to continue her success in 2010 with the fourthcoming release of debut album 'Animal' on 12/04/10.

Daniel Merriweather first appeared in my personal chart as the guest vocalist on Mark Ronson's 'Stop Me' which was no. 1 in my chart in May 2007. 'Red' is Daniel Merriweather's most successful single peaking at #2 where the track spent three weeks.

Here's one for gooddelta!!! :D The only single to reach no. 1 in my chart in 2009 that never got a UK release (and if it had, it probably would've bombed!!!). Marit Larsen caught my attention after this song climbed to no. 1 in the Austrian, German and Luxumburg singles charts. I'd never heard the song prior to this and after giving the song a listen on YouTube realise what a great track this is.

http://vibewaves.brinkster.net/europe/2008/beyonce-singleladies.jpg 16. Beyonce - Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It) [144 pts] [pk #2]

Another artist who has had an incredible 2009 is Beyonce. Following the release of UK no. 1 hit 'If A Were A Boy' and **that** performance with Alexandra Burke on The X Factor live final 2008, Beyonce went on to score three more top 10 hits in the UK chart in 2009. Despite being the b-side to 'If I Were A Boy', the record company decided to give 'Single Ladies' its own physical release. Coupled with its simple yet effective video this song went on to become a hit in its own right in January.

http://vibewaves.brinkster.net/europe/2009/leonalewis-happy.jpg 15. Leona Lewis - Happy [146 pts] [pk #1]

Leona Lewis, the most successful X Factor winner, returned in Autumn 2009 with the release of new single 'Happy'. Simon Cowell even got Leona to give an exclusive performance on both America's Got Talent followed by The X Factor upon its UK release. It looked almost certain that 'Happy' was heading for no. 1 in the UK charts...until Black Eyed Peas performed 'Meet Me Halfway' and Fergie single handedly stole Leona's thunder. Alas, 'Happy' lost out in the end peaking at no. 2 in the UK. The only country where 'Happy' has managed to hit the no. 1 spot is Slovenia.

Following on just two places above 'Single Ladies' is Beyonce once again. 'Sweet Dreams' may have only peaked at #4 in my chart but it was one of those tracks I didn't tire of hearing about a few weeks so this song had a healthy run inside my top 40. It ranks as Beyonce's highest placed single in my End Of Year 2009 chart.

After its UK release in January, 'Slumdog Millionaire' went on to become one of the biggest films this year. 'Jai Ho! (You Are My Destiny)' was a reworking of the A.R. Rahman original that features in the film. The reworking with English lyrics recorded by The Pussycat Dolls (and Nicole Schzeringer) became one of the biggest tracks across Europe in Spring 2009.

http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Thumbnail_Images/HMV/HOSPCDS02.JPG 12. The Prodigy - Omen [157 pts] [pk #1]

2009 saw the return of dance legends The Prodigy back on form with the release on their fifth studio album 'Invaders Must Die'. 'Omen' was the lead single released in February and stormed to no. 1 in my chart. As I've mentioned previously (albeit on ChC), The Prodigy 'No Good (Start The Dance)' was my first ever personal chart no. 1 when I started writing my own chart in the summer of 1994. It stopped in January 1996. Blame Babylon Zoo!!! :w00t:

http://vibewaves.brinkster.net/europe/2009/calvinharris-imnotalone.jpg 11. Calvin Harris - I'm Not Alone [159 pts] [pk #1]

Finishing just outside the top 10 of 2009 is Calvin Harris who scored his most successful single to date with 'I'm Not Alone' in April. His previous best came with the release of his debut single 'Acceptable In The '80s' which made no. 2 in my chart in March 2007. Calvin Harris has also scored a further two chart toppers as the featured artist on Dizzee Rascal's 'Dance Wiv Me' and 'Holiday'.
