Posted December 31, 200915 yr I am sure a civil war is about to break out in Ukraine just because of Eurovision. A few months ago, "Novy Channel*" (a commercial channel in Ukraine) announced that the winner of "Stars Factory 3" will represent Ukraine in 2010. NTU, however, is sending some other man, and it should be there choice, since NTU is the only broadcaster in the country which is a member of the EBU. But "Novy Channel" is confident that the winner of "Stars Factory 3" will get over 100,000 SMS votes, and no one else will be able to compete in popularity in the country. I think "Novy Channel" is now taking this to court, to force NTU to change there decision. They are also collecting signatures from other interested performers, who want an open preselection. They think the public should have a choice in such a big decision, and say an open preselection would be very profitable for NTU. Another channel, STB, is now joining in saying that Ukrainian stars are ready to take to the streets to prove that NTU have made the wrong choice. But NTU says that whoever they send, there will be some people who are unsatisfied. *Might actually be called "New Channel"
December 31, 200915 yr 'Novy' (Новый) = new in english so both are right. I think leaving ESC to a winner of this PARTICULAR show (i know what it's like) is stupid really, Top 4 (Russia 2004), Top 3 (Russia 2005), Top 3 (Russia 2007 - one member of Serebro being on the same show with Russia 2004 representative), THE WINNER (Russia 2009!) - look where it led in most cases! Serebro are quite an exception here because it's been more than 4 years since Yelena Temnikova was on Star Factory 4 in 2003/4(?) and she wasn't so amateur-ish unlike Yulia & Natalia. However, Dima Bilan won the New Wave contest in 2004 (i think) but it's really better quality wise in all honesty so different leagues completely. I guess i have a right to compare Russian and Ukranian versions of this show because they don't seem to be different even because of the name
