Given that only one album has anything from the Word's next to it list am I right in thinking that 9 of their top 10 are still to come? Does the way of compiling massively favour those albums or have they gone for the popular choices?

Only 4 of their top 10 in the combined top 10 --- others are in the big list in the first post, there were a couple that *only* The Word listed.

The only publication with fewer of their own top 10 in the combined list's top 10 is Uncut (with 3), so I don't think The Word's choices are unduly favoured by any means.

It also makes a difference that they didn't order them at all, so I counted each of those as if it was an equal 10th place.

Top 10 coming up...!

Interesting - I don't by any means like everything that's coming up, but I really like both these albums! 'Songs for the Deaf' is one of my favourites. I have to admit I don't know 'Deloused in the Crematorium' too well at all though.

As far as the other one goes, specifically the beginning and end of 'A Grand Don't Come For Free' is my favourite Streets stuff, not necessarily the singles, and all the live performances I've seen on tv have been really disappointing.

More in the morning.

My thoughts exactly. Songs for the dead is definitely QOTSA best album. With 'First It Giveth' and 'Mosquito Song' being my personal favourites off the album :)

I just dont get In Rainbows. I am a big Radiohead fan but it fails to do anything for me. Love Arcade Fire. I prefer the second Arctic Monkey's album to the first.

Q's list was strange. They didn't include any Muse albums at all.

That doesn't make it strange. I bought that edition of Q magazine, and was very surprised at some albums they included, such as Kanye West's '808s & Heartbreak', but then again, it is a pretty amazing album.
