7. October and April (Yori Llonen/Annette Olzon) - Duet between lead singers of the Finnish groups Rasmus and Nightwish produces this atmospheric ballad.

6. Cry Cry Cry (Oceana) - German based singer had international success with this soulful track.

5. Impossible (Daniel Merriweather) - Apparently with little promotion this retro sounding track only reaches 67 in the UK charts.

2. Papillon (The Editors) - Birmingham based indie band with a song supported by a simple but effective video of runners which matches the feel of the track.

1. Sweet Disposition (Temper Trap) - Australian rock band eventually reached 6 in the UK charts but is number one for 2009 in my chart.
