Alex James from Blur ( wild card - very enthusiastic about classical music but not a strong singer)

Bernie Nolan

Jimmy Osmond

Marcella Detroit (Shakespear's Sister) - the older stars

However, Marcella has a great voice and Jimmy is an Osmond and a lovely guy - they could get a lot of votes

Kym Marsh

Danny Jones (McFly)

Vanessa White (Saturdays) - all have massive fan clubs

Just read that Darius is going to be on This Morning on Friday

Wow

2 appearances on Friday then thats good cant wait :yahoo:

It'll give me something to do for part of Friday.

I'll be like a cat on hot bricks until he's sung the last note of his song. Silly, I know, because I've heard Darius sing all kinds of song and I know he has a voice which can be transformed and an appetite for hard work when he's enthused.

Nordoff Robbins , the music therapy charity, is to be the official charity for the show. Most of these pop artists will have worked with the charity at some point. I know Darius has.

Not lon gto wait now. Thanks Baytree for telling me who else is on. :)

Popstar to Operastar: we back Darius

13. January 2010

Popstar to Operastar begins on Friday night and the Zoe Griffin party squad is strangely excited.

Danny Jones from McFly has come out to explain why he decided to compete on the reality show.

Speaking to ITV, Danny revealed: “I’m not bothered about the critics. I’m doing this for the experience and because I think it’ll be fun.

“I think it could introduce opera to a whole new audience. I’m hoping to make opera cool!”

As much as we love Danny, we think this is a big egotisitical because that depends on assuming you think you are cool in the first place…

Here’s who we think will win – Darius Danesh – as his 2002 smash hit Colourblind shows he can actually sing. (And he’s never really cared about being cool).

nice to read, I would love D to win, and will be voting for him - but I wont expect too much of the GBP, I hope only that he should show everyone that lovely voice, I am sure he has a lot of non pop fans who wondered what happened to him, its the voting that I hate, I know PI nearly finished me off, the pure worry

Great, the more support the better.

Have you got through to Meg's, Pam?

We are still snow-bound. Yet more snow last night. Glad I'm not travelling to London although I'm very

disappointed to miss the show.

Hope you all make it to support D. And hopefully to bring back photos for the rest of us.

My train is 15:39 wish I'd gone for an earlier one now.

I'm watching the delays....the minutes are decreasing as the time moves on....hope it doesn't go the other way.

I'm going straight to London and meeting Meg and Nina at the studio....fingers crossed

Sorry you're still snow-bound. How are you doing for supplies?

We're fine for food. Daughter did my Xmas shop and she has walked up once since with more fresh supplies. But our

freezer is rapidly being depleted. I hate to think how much my next shopping spree will cost to replace all the

stand-bys. Loads of tins of stuff left but I prefer fresh meat and veg to tinned or frozen.

Hope you will be able to post about the show tonight.........I know Meg will be busy with her Mum.

Trains from here are suffering delays. Hope yours is on time.

A friend on myspace has just told me that Darius got a good write up in the TV times - shame I didn't buy it. Our side of the road has walkable pavements now, marvellous what 8 hrs of rain can do. The other side is still, basically, white ice. Our trains seem to be running OK

Glad your trains are ok Meg

I'll try to do a report whilst Meg is with her mum

....hope we get in to report something :o

I hope you all have a good time, enjoy the show and have safe journeys if you're seeing the show tonight or tomorrow, I'm looking forward to hearing how it goes :)

Hello Everyone, :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: Im still around and have been kept up to date with news from Meg. Hope you all have a great time tonight and take some lovely photos. Have already organised family and friends to vote. So very best of luck to Darius .
