That's a relief. After the critical judgements I was really worried. Not speaking french I enjoyed the performance. Suited his voice per4fectly.

Relieved he's through, but don't think his comments regarding the mentors will help him in this competition

D was good tonight but I just feel he's not really being given the chance to use his enormously powerful voice. I also feel this shortened version could have done with including more of the recognisable section of the aria.

At least he's through, so we can look forward to worrying again for him next week :)

stressing me out. I am glad I have read some posts regarding his french not being as bad as was said..I did wonder what LLB was on about.

I thought D was jesting with the mentors..so hopefullly it will be forgotten..LOL or they may give him a very difficult song next week!!

what next????

Did you see Judi dench shown sitting with a bald headed man. He seemed familiar. was it Gareth valentine the musical director when he sang at the Big sing albert hall.
This is costing me a fortune!!!

I'd love D to stay in all the way, but I'm not sure my bank manager will be too happy

OK! Breath back, here's my initial thoughts.

Marcella has a good voice, but I am really struggling to like her at all  Comment's like " I want to win this and I think I can" won't ingraciate her to the GBP.

Although Jimmy's performance was probably one of the weaker ones this week, I am surprised he placed bottom 2 :o There must be many, many thousands of Osmond fans in this country, as they're extremely popular, so it shocked me a little. Glad he stayed in, although Vanessa was much better this week IMO.

Danny sang well this week, not exceptional, but at least we could see he was taking it seriously.

Kym and Bernie are solid performers, but neither really blew me away or matched Marcella on the night.

Not sure what he'll get next week, but I'm hoping for a deep, meaningful aria that D can power out with great emotion and gusto. Lyn wasn't keen on him moving this week, though she realises that it's a part of this type of music and it's presentation. I thought he moved pretty well, though I've seen him more gracefull in the West End ;)

Oh the joys of being a Darius fan

I thought he sounded good and performed well.

I don't speak French.

I thought he looked rough.

I realise he was trying to be 'in character', just looked a mess for me :(

thought it was good, such a contrast from last week - he did look rough, but sexy rough, that worked with the feel of the song.

it felt a bit like that Hotel Babylon, I saw Darius - but somehow it wasnt Darius...

I thought he looked great this week. I think he tailored his look for this part and it worked for me :)

Another week to worry about what they give him. Maybe their disagreement over language made them more critical than they would have been. They seemed OK about Jimmy forgetting lyrics. I do like Jimmy though. I just have this horrible feeling that the judges statements will have a lasting effect. I know he's not going to win because it's fan based voting but I'd like fair criticsm.

So far we've had Rolando complaining about lowering the range in the tenor aria he gave to a baritone and now a problem with the language - something he and Katharine couldn't agree on. Laurence is best just ignored.

We have to remember that Darius's bass range is like a high performance vehicle . He's not had much opportunity to drive it so he'll be a bit reckless at first but when he gets used to it and combines it with his natural charisma and performance skills, he'll be superb.
