it is great though that there are so many intelligent posts no the various sites, makes interesting and informative reading, the only ones who missed the point and prejudged were teh tabloids jumping on the percieved snobbery of the opera set views on hearing about the show, but it seems to be hooking more and more people, dont know if that reflects in ratings, but it is certainly getting dicussions going.

Another week of rehearsals ahead, fingers crossed for Friday, I'm having a great time on this show! Hope everyone had a great weekend. D x

aww bless him,its always Lovely to get little messages from him :D .

Yeah i'm wondering the same thing too PIP..........whatever it is he'll be Fantastic though!

Wonder when he'll get the English 1 to sing?

He won't.

Darius is the only contestant who's sung two arias in different languages.

Marcella has sung two difficult Italian arias.

Vanessa sang one Italian aria and one in English.

The others have had one aria and one non-aria popular song.

He won't.

How do you know he won't BT?

Unless it's a very tricky aria, it would be a step backwards to give him an English one.

Isn't part of the show 's raison d'etre to try to challenge them and show progress.

It may well be, but I don't feel you can totally eliminate the possibility, especially if the producers felt it would benefit the show(though not necessarily D).

I'm hoping that the constructive criticism from Rolando and also the fact that he was given a tenor aria 1st week, are geared around highlighting or accentuating his progress.

After LLB's nonsense comments about D, Katherine was about to speak, but Alan T stopped her, presumably due to time. Perhaps D had sung "that" phrase as she had suggested rather than Rolando's and maybe she was going to contradict LLB, what do you think?

who knows, it would have been good to hear her say something, she did look like she was agreeing with Meatloaf week one though, with that little nod,

I really hope the harsh critics will make D try all the harder, as now I am less worried about the vocals, I am worrying that he will fluff the languages - weid coz evidentlyhis diction on the first week was commented on as begin great by some online posts

I think the panel time was cut short because Darius, true to form, had spent too long thanking everyone after he had sung his aria!! :D I think D and Katherine were bickering jokingly between themselves because when accused of pronouncing his French wrong, D said they had confused him and it was their fault and I distinctly saw Katherine laughingly nod at him and say 'No, it was your fault'!

His Italian was very good and German has many similar sounds to the old Scots- he'll have no trouble with the hard ch in German which English speakers find difficult because it's the same as in Loch. I still say there was not a lot wrong with his French although he could have made his task much easier.

Darius thinks too much. He wants everything to be as authentic as possible. He was trying to sing french with a Spanish accent overlayed by operatic Italianate tone.

yes. I think that is what happened, it is just I find these things worry me, suddenly I supposed he was the only one of the lot who couldnt pick up the language element! but now you say that, it makes sense to me.

That'e exactly what he was trying to do. He wants everything perfect. Glad he's enjoying himself, not sure if we are!! Sue

There is a thread on a theatre site (not WOS) with a particularly nasty bit about D. What a supercilious but know nothing lot they are on that site. Doesnt give out good vibes for the promoting the theatre in general at least not to me.wonder what other site they may belong to.

Everybody's getting it on there - even Rolando, whom they obviously know nothing about and haven't even googled to find out.

Do you expect positivity from someone who harps on about Darius eight years ago and love in the room?

No I dont Baytree, glad you found it but it just got up my nose.
Very bad in this day of dog eat dog. I'd rather have that though than the tough and spin doctors.
