he cant win, Jimmy is taking the competiton seriously too, he says he is eating, sleeping and living opera, Danny is practising 5 hours a day. tbh I would rather he was taking it seriously if he wasnt he would get even more stick, plus he wouldnt earn respect in the industry, performers take all they learn and do seriously surely.

as said its jealousy, I take it Kym isnt taking it seriously then...and she is fine with that. I owuld be so cross if D wasnt taking it seriously tbh, if he doesnt win but tried his best no one can ask more, but to not win and know its because you didnt bother that much well, or perhaps Kym is so confident in her operatic skills....more over, taking a pop at Darius in a scottish paper? it did come over as slightly tongue in cheek, god forbid he is sipping water and she makes herself look stupid with the laxitive comment fo its not being joky. I can only hope that all this rot about Darius gets people voting more for him. remember a lot of people didnt vote for Vanessa becuase she wasnt deemed to be that bothered!

She said all this while she was in Scotland , is she trying to damp the scottish vote. Rolando was o n breakfast and they showed a long clip of Jimmy training followed by Marcella and a mention of alex and another but not D. I think you are right about Jimmy, they are pushing him for this week as expected. He will get a serious aria for sure. The thing is if Kyms not taking it seriously as appears she should go as vanessa did.She had to say about D though not about the others practising 5 hours a day.

well al D can do is his best, the GBP love an underdog and I suppose if he was being pushed in their face they would resent him -

Lesley Garrett has said she thinks that the Popstar to Operastar bosses are expecting "too much" from the celebrities taking part in the show. The singer was once principal soprano at the English National Opera.

 

She has suggested that the celebrities taking part should be given easier material to sing.

 

Garrett told the Daily Telegraph, Garrett commented: "I think they're being asked to sing arias that are much too difficult for them.

 

"It takes years and years to train and be an opera singer. I think the programme sets them an almost impossible task."

 

She added: "Still, I'm always pleased always when opera is featured in the mainstream.

 

"My mission in life is to introduce more people to opera and classical music."

 

The programme has stars such as Kym Marsh, Darius Campbell and Jimmy Osmond learn how to sing opera.

 

Each week they tackle a different aria in front of a judging panel which includes Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, Meatloaf, Rolando Villazon and Katherine Jenkins.

Scottish Sun Marsh Interview

Well, to think I used to like her. Shows my judgement is off. I'm proud of Darius putting 100 % into what he's signed up to do. That's what I'd want him to do and What I feel anyone should do. He can't help having a better voice than hers. He wont win as he hasn't got the fan base but he does have, along with Marcella, the best voice. I can't say I've ever liked The Sun, so I'm not completely off.

SEXY Coronation Street star Kym Marsh reckons she has finally found a way to get shot of Scots plonker Darius.

The actress - who plays barmaid Michelle Connor in the nation's favourite soap - first met the cheesy singer when he tried to earn a place in her chart-topping band Hear'Say.

 

But he got the boot from the auditions on the telly talent show Popstars ten years ago after his toe-curling cover of Britney Spears' Baby One More Time.

 

Now like a bad penny the 29-year-old Glaswegian has turned up again with a new surname - after swapping from Danesh to Campbell - alongside Marsh on the reality show Popstar To Operastar.

 

 

But Kym, 33, giggles: "Darius is taking the show way too seriously, constantly sipping water for his vocal cords.

 

"I'm thinking of slipping some laxatives into his bottle when he's not looking.

 

"It'd be funny to see him try and hit the high notes while keeping his cheeks squeezed together.

 

"That'd soon end any hopes he has of making the final."

 

We meet in Glasgow's Sloans restaurant as the actress is in the city promoting an energy-efficient roadshow for Home Heat Helpline.

mm, perhaps thats why Myleen doesnt get on with her, imo she makes herself look bad in the interview, you cant knock someone for taking something seriously, can you imagine a total professional like Jimmy Osmond not taking this seriously, they all know they arent going to be great opera singers, but the experience is worth putting your all into, they all seem be working really hard. obviously not Kym though.
