Its the usual pattern - first it's oh him! Darius who? You must be joking - scraping the barrel etc.

Then when it's clear the bait's floating uselessly, the tactic changes to Can't wait to see Darius making a **** of himself.

Then he doesn't, so the cold, arrogant, loves himself accusations are rolled out along with every negative thing he's ever supposed to have done.

The length and frequency of the last tactic increases in proportion to the fear that he might actually do well.

Finally when he proves he can rise the challenge, the iron gate crashes down and he gets the cold shoulder and doesn't get mentioned again.

I think that after 10 years of trying , it's his detractors and not Darius who should get a life. As far as I can see, Darius has a pretty enviable life.

I think that after 10 years of trying , it's his detractors and not Darius who should get a life. As far as I can see, Darius has a pretty enviable life. and a pretty enviable girlfriend especially to some of the djs.I think therein lies the rub .I do t know which radio station sue is referring to but they obvioiusly need enlightening on why he moved to LA for a start. There are several other contestants so why do they continually single him out. Its terrible that someone who is talented is being put down this way constantly.

sad isnt it, jealousy I fear, because why else would the mention of someone you don't know personally invite such sustained negativity, I am sure Darius has got himself a rather exciting life, whereas this DJ is sitting in some god forsaken studio talking to themselves.

shame they couldnt stick to the actual performances, of course the mention that he may win - and the fact they can't knock his singing on the program means the personal rot is the only course to go. Makes me so mad.

Good. I'm glad Darius hasn't forgotten his myspace. He should use as many of his contact points as possible in the time he has. The important point is they by-pass the media and can't be corrupted on the way to those he wants to inform.

It's good to see the other guys in McFly are doing what good mates always do. winding each other up. Dougie Poynter apparently tweeted "Vote Darius" on Friday.

I remember McFly were at Darius's opening night in GWTW.

I'll give D an extra vote on his behalf. Stephen (?) Bowman, the bass baritone member of Blake is also rooting for Darius.

This is the natural French performance of Toreador I mentioned previously.

If Darius could get anywhere near to the pronunciation and liveliness of this, I'd be thrilled. He's obviously not going to get anything like the same resonance from his voice because that would take years not weeks of practice.

Just thought I would post a youtube vid of hopefully D's next song :) It's wonderful to have so many informed, intelligent people on this forum( god I wish I were one), but if there are any more bozo's like me, who didn't know what The Toreador sounded like just from the title without hearing it, here it is, with helpful basic English translation too :)

If this is indeed his next performance, I feel it's a song D could absolutely nail, so I'll keep my fingers crossed :yahoo:

If that is Darius' next song, I think it will definitely suit him.

Also agree with you about Leslie Garratt. She would have been far better on the panel than any one of the others. Meatloaf is already doing my head in.

I thought for a few seconds Darius had worked his magic there and Meatloaf was going to stay in his seat. At least he managed to distract Myleene from her autocue where she undoubtedly had something like

If you have Rushes for Darius, vote..... OR if you think Darius is Incredible, vote OR If you want Darius to Live Twice

Oh Lord, there's a whole arsenal of them =

If you Kinda Love Darius

B.P. stop loitering and see if you can kindly embed that youtube video for me, pretty please

BT's version

I forgot to post this earlier. Lyn wasn't able to come with me but watched the show live on tv. She thinks Darius is a nice person with a good voice, but is not a fan of his. I was delighted when she said that he had been very good, and she knew this as his performance gave her goosebumps

Thank you. I owe you one. one what, I'm not telling you.

Keep working on her, B.P. You might get a convert yet.

I wonder if Darius watches these videos to get the atmosphere and context of the arias he is given??

I would rather like to see Darius in character for Toreador..something he could put some gusto into

If they stick Darius behind a static mike again, I'll scream. A lot of arias really need the singer to be moving.

Opera singers don't have that problem - they don't use mikes.

Someone on another site reckons that Marcella's aria is One Fine Day. It's often sung in English but I think Marcella will be asked to sing it in Italian. If she can conquer her nerves it'll be a real show stopper. There's a youtube clip of Lesley Garrett singing it.

Popstar to opera star is on at 6.30p,m tonite, thats shortly on ITV2 REPEAT. for those who may have missed it.

Thanks, Preston.

I've just been listening to Scarpia's 'Va, Tosca' . I like this one too.

I think the tenor arias will be more popular though.
