I agree about the tenors arias and also ones that the public recognise.

They're going to run out of ad related and commonly known arias in a couple of weeks. Then they will either have to have them sing them in English or get some subtitling or something and have Alan Titchmarsh or someone explain what they're singing about and its context.

By the way do you know the tenor in the go compare ad. is a genuine tenor opera singer from Wales?

No I didnt know that but Ian hyland from the news of the world jokingly was saying they would be singing advert arias and that D would be doing go compare this week. I am watching it all yet again.
Let's face it. Darius is the only one of the guys who could sing it. With his name the joke works. Any of the others, it would drop like the lead balloon it is.
looking at a few vids of these arias I think Darius could risk the undone look, toreador is a real attitude song isnt it! mind you I am not sure I want D to make some of those gurning faces
Web chats tomorrow with Danny 4pm and Kym 4.30 I didn't go looking for the details but I think you'll probably get them on the show's main site.

later tomorrow?

Does anyone have tickets for tonight? It seems a shame that there was no ticket allocation for each singer and one bunch of fans can take over.

No idea but people were asking for when Jimmy was on and they didn't say he wasn't. I can't see that they could do some and not others.
No one I know got any. As I've said before, even if i had, I probably wouldn't manage to get a seat,
He sounds really happy on his Facebook. Maybe we are doing the worrying for him? Now I just need to find someone to do my worrying for me.

I don't feel worried now. Let the best man win, if none of the four girls is better.

I don't sense that D's dyed in the wool enemies are greatly organised or making much of an impact to sway the public against him. Sure they've taken every opportunity to re-tweet the pic and to drone on about Britney but that's all the shots in their locker. He's silenced the "can't sing live", "doesn't have stamina for live shows" mob already and last Friday he blew the other criticism out of the water and proved he can hold a note or two.

He'll have to soon address the perception of "zero personality", a description of last week's showing from a classical music source, but it's not all bad because the same source also singled him out as the "most instinctively musical "of the participants and so he should be- he's been steeped in music all his life.

This contest is Darius's to lose or win - it's up to him. His greatest competition will be his expectations of himself.

all he can do is himself justice, whether he gets enough votes to win is up to gbp,no good worrying - easy to say as I am nervous not only about the voting, but if Darius makes a slip up in his perfromance.

will be interesting to see how they all improve and what songs they sing.

I feel Darius can rise to the performance side, I just hope he does in style

Toreador and the character, from what I have read invokes the characters Darius has played in the past anyway

just had a lookin on Dannys webchat-

now thats what I love about Darius, he can talk sense, wonder if we will get one with him? if he gets through?.

at least we know Danny is in this for the crack, and cant wait to get back to normal singing, wants to do some rapping -

although he says he is practising 5 hours a day. I hope Darius is too,

I'm sure D will attck this venture with his usual vigour, and I can't imagine anyone else working harder than him, so I think it's a safe bet PIP :)

It will be interesting to see how the bass/baritone repertoire goes down with the public.
