The more I see of his performance the more I enjoy it. Like others have said, I too would have liked it to have been longer with more of a build up. I also worry if the comment made by Darius after the judges comments may have a negative effect. Did anyone else think Meatloaf forgot D's name at the end just before the votes or am I being paranoid? The Three Muskateers sounds good to me .Really hope something good comes out of all this for him. Sue

tbh, I think Opera singers ruin the songs LOL, their faces show such strain at projecting their voices, one of them looks like his eyes are going to explode at one point, I wouldnt want Darius doing opera, classical or musicals yes, but Opera, no

that is what spoils opera for me, I would rather they did the opera like a musical, use mics whatever, but they get so obbsessed in big voices. may be ok to listen too, but I find watching them painful

talking of stephen Bowman, he just tweeted me to say if it would help Darius win he would gladly coach him as he has the same type of voice! wasnt expecting that, I just tweeted him earlier to say I thought he should coach Darius wasnt expecting a reply! - I did tweet Darius earlier too to tell him to ask Mr Bowman to coach him...and why shouldnt he, Danny is asking italian waiters for language coaching..LOL

That was nice of him.

 

I feel this is another thing against D. It's at the weekend that people would be interested in listening to performances. Not to have him there as one of the remaining singers is not good.

then again I think people either have their favs or will vote on the performance they see, it is typical though. why is it that Darius always seems to get the short straw

I am already worried what he is singing next week, and wondering about the bottom two, etc..

Can i just say, that the judges are really beginning to annoy me big time now.......how come all 4 of them had time to speak to all or most of the others, and Darius wa the only 1 who only had 2!It was the same last week too i think! :angry:

I really worry for D if he is bottom 2.

The critics are at it again, the sun day express and telegraph are criticising the show after one week, they dont give it a chance, what is it with these people that they have a job , I would be quite happy if they didnt. An amateur could make a better job of it. The difference from the week they reviewed to this last week was enormous.

I am hoping Jimmy goes next week, its awful worrying about it, if D and Jimmy are botom two, I would fairly say JImmy should go but then again, who knows, it depends on the performance,

The more I think of the ridiculousness of the "I couldn't understand word of your French", the more I suspect LL-B was too engrossed in Darius's performance to actually listen to what he was singing and just jumped on Rolando's comment.

 

You know I think they do want to be tough on Darius because they know he has great potential.

 

Look at the argument clip - it had to be in the very early stages because they're working from the score and there's Katherine and Rolando coaching him together, with the musical director, Dave Arch.

 

I don't think I've seen Dave Arch in any of the other clips.

How about some Gilbert and Sullivan? That would be a bit different. Darius would be a knockout in that and it's much lighter than opera.

 

However I can't help thinking what we'll actually get if Darius doesn't win this dashed thing, is him back in the US within weeks. It's such a waste of talent. It's criminal.

I love gilbert and sullivan but a lot of the main roles are tenors i.e song a wandering minstral but I enjoy him singing along the lines of from a distance etc and perhaps along the lines of Matt monroe.
