Not a word. It's a shame as I'd like to listen before his performance

there have been some really spiteful posts regarding Katherine, she has had a lot of the so called music sorts laying into her.

On the whole though I have read a lot of good posts, some on classical music forums, from people who have an interest in opera etc that are very positive about Darius' voice, he is one of the three who are being mentioned a lot as being good - the negative ones I agree seem to be from people who just post for the sake of it, as said if they dont even know who Rolando is for gods sake - a lot rom people who hadnt heard them sing,

its nice to read comments about people not realising Darius could sing like this.

Not an aria - an art song Mexican. Complicated in the original Spanish.

 

A big voiced passionate song which sung in English, used to be a staple on albums . Maybe they'll let him sing it in English.

 

Another tenor one? Why?

 

 

I can only find youtube of tenors singing that - Mario Lanza, Pavaorotti, Florez, Domingo.

 

Off to see if I can find one bass baritone - terfel? dimitri H.

 

Apparently Frankie Laine sang it. I vaguely remember him having a deep voice.

 

It must be suitable for bass baritones. It is on one of Bryn Terfel's albums.

I would think so.

it was only something I read online, it is naughty they aent using arias, there must be enough of them

it is infuriating though as people have posted quite a few arias they feel would suit him.

 

wonder if we will get a clue today..

perhaps they arent meant to tell, on jimmys twitter he says he rehearsed his aria with Rolando yesterday and thats its a proper aria, no way to sing popstyle on it.

I have a feeling Jimmy will be out this week, even singing a proper aria, though hope I am wrong, as long as it's not at the expense of D going :o

 

I'd quite like to see Marcella bottom 2, as I feel she thinks she is likely to win, rather than just wanting to win, as the rest seem to. I think the judges would probably save her anyway, but it would be good to shake her perch a little :naughty:

 

 

Quite often the one who is in the bottom two like Jimmy get a lot of teaching so they improve and not be in the bottom two the next week, and when you say he says therewill not be a poppy sound that looks like what is happening.Also there is often a shock one in the bottom two or at least thats how it has it has happened in other shows. I hope this isnt going to happen.

Me too. My Mum used to love Granada. I can't really remember it apart from having the feeling it was sung by a baritone - could be completely wrong. Jimmy's Osmond group will be voting in force to prevent him going out. I really don't want it to be Darius. But then, I don't want it to be anyone. I'd have just loved to watch the series developing all 8 voices. That would have been fantastic.

It gets me that a lot of people wont even know he's being set up. ITV really annoy me having his as the only performance not available on their home page. Facebook is still playing up for me so I can't even see what's on there.

 

I do have a feeling he's going to do 'Granada' well though. But it'll lose some people because it's not opera and if we have a stupid hate comment from one of the judges again, it'll make it worse.

 

It may be very enjoyable to hear him sing. I do have a good feeling about this - just not the programme.

I'd be so disappointed if they were trying to manipulate a shock bottom two in the early stages to try to get ratings up. i really thought this was one reality Tv programme to try to clean up the act a bit,

dear lord,just treted myself t a netbook seems desperate, but it hhas soud andplays video, so I just watched granada sung by Placimo Domingo,I dont obivouslylike opera, what is it with the warbling, and he was using a mic, and the audience strted clapping after teh first line..lol

 

can only wait ad see,I have everythig crossed, but it always seems Dariusis short changed.

I think he'll do this well. The warmth of his voice will come through. The last is a bass baritone, not a good recording but you can work through that. I like the 2nd best.

 

 

Just edited to say I do like the tenor ones better but at least he should be able to use his full range in this.

You know how I feel now then, pip. What with a bad work station, bad typing, bad fingers and a problem with writing, eveyone has got used to having to translate my posts.

 

It's still worth it to be able to listen on the pc though, isn't it?

it is, not sure hubby will think so, but it wasnt dear, and i can sit downstairs and have a peek when i want, its been ages since i had any sound on the pc

That was one of the benefits of getting this pc. I have a new 2nd hand one coming in March.

I'm still unhappy they've stuck him with Spanish (if they have)
