Well at least with all these challenges, even D can't make it look too easy! Maybe(and big fingers crossed), just maybe these trials are benefiting D and his continued participation  though he has performed comfortably well enough to deserve to still be in the competion IMO :)

Thanks Meg. The second one was outstanding I felt. The third one, well I know I shouldnt say this but it made me laugh, especially when the girls came on and then he had to sit down. Some of the higher notes are quite long and then there is along note at the end but depends what bit they let him do, I hope they keep in the best and main part. However, I do feel it is too well known o/s of the opera sphere perhaps and its a second spanish one on the trot.

Well....1 watch a snipet of the first about 1/2 of the second

As Preston said the third held my interest.

....I could just see Darius sat on a chair with 3 women round him and 1 undoing his shirt buttons....brilliant....do you think they will do that bit

volunteers..

oh well, if it is this one it is, I did read a post saying D makes it look effortless,

would be good if he could get all the requirements, language, operatic vocals and the Chaka?? performance in one go, he hasnt done bad up till now - I do wonder how their voices are taking the strain,

Maybe with that guy but............ with D? He's charismatic and sexy enough without that. This is a family show! Anyway he'd get accused of having to strip every week. last week the jacket, this week the shirt buttons next week ???????

Seriously I think it would cheapen his performance considerably.

He aced the language first week, gave Rolando's chacka chacka performance last week and his proper voice was beginning to come through. (That's why I'm mad it's a song best sung by a tenor)

With the possible exception of Bernie, no-one else has shown they have all the shots in their locker.

If he can put them all together in one 2 minute performance, he'll be hard to beat (if only the voting was on merit).

How do you feel Marcella is doing? I thought she was best of the ladies, and possibly overall so far, though as I have said, I don't really like her that much.

I think she probably is the best singer among the girls. I think Darius is best overall.

Singing-wise, she's very talented but for me, her performance does nothing for me. I know she's nervous but I get distracted by the shaking head and sometimes she looks as if she's really straining.

I can tell, I dislike womens voices on the whole, I have no idea if they are in key etc, on some classical forums I have seen mention that kym was off key, and going off pitch, then again I have read Katherine was flat???

I dont really like the sound marcella makes, someone postd that she was full of tension which is effecting her voice.

Time i suppose will tell - as long as Darius doesnt strain his voice I'm OK. out of all of them he is the one who sounds as if the vocals are flowing forth rather than being pushed out

I know what you mean, as I have noticed she has bulging veins in her neck, when she strains out the higher notes. I wish I was a little more familiar with opera, as I can't really tell who is best of her and D. I certainly know who I prefer, but that's necessarily who's best.

I don't think either Darius or Marcella is working full throttle and they both have the problem of garnering enough votes to stay in the competition, to move up a gear in the later stages.
Have you a link to the discussions, BT? I'm glad some one found something. I haven't heard a sausage. (Not that sausages are well known for the noise they make)

Was it this you meant Meg?

well it was on facebook a mention of granada was made,

as for discussions, I put popstar to operastar forums in and then trawled through,to see what the general feeling were, so blueroom, el diva, G4 onesamongst obscure ones I hadnt thought of came up. I just wanted to get a feel for what ohters were posting on th enet

Like you Paul I don't know enough about opera to be impartial, I just know what I like and I don't like Marcella. Having said that, they could be editing it to make her appear arrogant. If it is Granada, I feel Darius will do it justice. Just hope he can acquire the extra votes needed to keep him in, because as somebody has already said, Jimmy's fans will be out in force this week however he performs. Sue
