I agree he will do a good job its just that granada is a bit like summertime to me which vanessa did when she left if you know what I mean.

...............and that's the connection people will make if he he's told to do it in English! :(

Granada is a song that has been done to death in the far past and like summertime is not thought of by a lot of people as opera, summertime being of the same ilk. However Im sure he will do a good job.but why that choice for hi unless......

Summertime is from an American Opera - Porgy and Bess.

Granada is a popular Mexican song, sometimes sung by opera singers but again, as I've said, mainly by tenors.

If I wasn't so annoyed at the thought of it, I'd be doing a Bernie - You're having a laugh!

Don't they want Darius in the competition? Did he not serve his purpose of messing up Nessum Dorma for the viewers' hilarity? Was Darius supposed to be the other comedic interval in the first show? Did they think his West End credentials were down to bums on seats in jukebox musicals?

Sometimes I feel that supporting Darius gives you a feeling of dread, Whatever happens, it'll be harder for him than those around. I just feel they want to get him out. Between song choices, judges and itv, they make it harder for him all the time.

Stephen's right - Darius never gives up. I have no idea where he draws the courage and stamina from to keep rolling the stone uphill.

Yes, what was that all about with ITV? - putting up all the videos except Darius! It looks so blatant.

From what he's posted he sounds as if he's enjoying the whole experience to me. Are we worrying more than we should be?

ok after listening to mario and diago, if it is this one i am fine with it

the diago one at the albert hall, he has the dual microphones just like darius had with nessun dorma, i thought these opera singers didnt need them....

not sure flamenco seems to fit, oh well-

No, B.P.

Fairness is still part of the British psyche and I'm not seeing it so far. They're bigging up the others, glossing over their mistakes ( except Vanessa) and damning Darius with faint praise.

I know. I should be reassured that he sounds so happy. But we all do that when fighting against the odds. I'm afraid I'll have to stick with worry for now.

Especially Darius. he's had so much practice putting on a happy face in troubled times, that he must be black belt in the art now.

Well I'm making a conscious decision to enjoy this show and D's ride along in it, however long or short it lasts :)

It's just so nice to hear and see anything of him, I think it would be foolish to let our concerns spoil this experience for us. If D's career was to be opera based, then I might be slightly more perturbed, but he's not here for that, so no point stressing IMO.

Let's just enjoy as much D as we can get, what do you say :)

I just can't share that philosophy, sorry, B.P.

I think that seeing him on par with my kids makes me just to protective. If they had to go through what he does, I'd be tearing my hair out. I can't enjoy hearing snipes against him and feeling that even the TV company are against him. Never mind the judges - well LLB

I will enjoy D's singing, but I am afraid as a mum too, I cant help worry.

I am sure he will do well though, I actually do like that song if he is singing it...

what other spanish song goes with a flamenco feel..we may be worrying for nothing.

The point is he shouldn't be singing SONGS associated mainly with tenors, when there are plenty of bass baritone arias. The choice just seems bizarre.

That's just how I feel Meg. It's like having an extra child to worry about. I don't know how D's parents stand it. Sue

well danny just has a little lesson with russell watson, I really wish D would hook up with SB, tips from a fellow baritone would be great,
