January 3, 201015 yr Avenged Sevenfold - Afterlife for 1 week  Edited January 3, 201015 yr by Sunset Vista
January 3, 201015 yr The only way JLS could get to no. 1 is if they were release a new single version different to the album version. That way it might help the song sell more. Once the video goes into circulation, it'll shoot up iTunes. All songs do once video airplay kicks in. Most fans will buy the single again even if it is the same as the album.. & because of the B-side.. It was their rumoured first single Mary which was never released so most are looking forward to that I still really doubt One shot will get to number 1 though.. probably top 5 and Owl City will get number 1
January 3, 201015 yr Author people have to remember though if marina wins sound of 2010 poll, thats alot of publicity and could easily get to number one. Personally, with the release date where it is I think Marina will be topping the poll
January 3, 201015 yr Really not much to chose from here, very poor contenders. I think IYAZ will hold on and when enough people have got that I think that Sidney will get his week at the top. Hope Owl City is released early or we could have a very big long run at number 1 which is never fun. I think itunes will release it early and it will get to the top and then on the 28th, should be an intresting one but I think Gaga will outpeak JLS to the top although that Wiley song could be a smash as Emeli is fantastic. Depends on how it sounds though? Could be a suprise one. January 4, 201015 yr What about alex Burke broken heels that could also sneak to number one loyal fans and it is a really cathcy song
January 4, 201015 yr What about alex Burke broken heels that could also sneak to number one loyal fans and it is a really cathcy song I think it should but the release date is next week so it only has this week to climb until its released and it seems to be stalling. If it was released a couple of weeks later so airplay can gain it would have got to number one but unfortuently tracks normally peak on their physical release week. I think its her team that will stop her 3rd number one.
January 4, 201015 yr I think Iyaz will just be #1 until OC is released, could be a very long run if he stays with the 22 Feb release. That said, I can see Sidney Samson having better longterm sales and sneaking in a week or two as Iyaz's sales drop, and after the BRITs I could see Florence + The Machine having a shot. OC will definitely be #1 when released though. Probably for a few weeks. I can't see us having anywhere near as many #1s in 2010 as we had in 2009.

I'm sure Simon Cowell will have his wicked way once again come September 2010 and we'll probably have Joe McElderry (inevitable "comeback" single), Olly Muirs, Danyl Johnson (you just know Simon will sign him), John & Edward (pfft!!!) all release singles one week apart followed by JLS (new single from second album), Alexandra Burke (likewise), Leona Lewis (third album lucky?), Cheryl Cole (solo album #2) and of course the dreaded The X Factor Finalists 2010 covering 'My Heart Will Go On' in aid of Oxfam. So that's nine "one week wonders" already!!! Let's start a Facebook campaign to get Riva featuring Dannii Minogue 'Who Do You Love Now?' to no. 1 from September until December 2010!!! :w00t: Simon would love that wouldn't he? :D
January 4, 201015 yr What a great idea! Would love Dannii to get the musical limelight she so deserves

I wouldn't be surprised if Iyaz and Sidney will have alternate weeks at #1  till OC releases, OC should have released last year instead of Umbrella Beach, it would have been the first #1 of 2010 for sure.

Especially if Cheryl "The Nation's Sweetheart" ( Max Clifford) Cole rush records and releases a deluxe version of her 3 Words album with a new single the same week.

So that's nine "one week wonders" already!!! Are people really that sad that they plan the whole year of music out, in January? For starters, Simon will NOT sign John & Edward. Secondly, Alexandra and Leona won't have another album until at least April 2011, and finally, Cheryl Cole won't be having another solo album, as Girls Aloud will be reforming later this year. Please sort your life out next time. :)

January 4, 201015 yr I Got You - Leona Lewis Out in February sometime, not 100% on release date. Iyaz - Replay Fireflies - Owl City Lady Gaga ft Beyonce - Telephone Edited January 4, 201015 yr by LL1
January 4, 201015 yr What a DIRE couple of months at the top spot it will be if all three of Owl City, Iyaz & Sidney Samson get there. :/ I much preffered Gaga/Lily's reign at the top last year!
January 4, 201015 yr January 10th: IYAZ - Replay (4 Weeks) February 7th: Owl City - Fireflies (3 Weeks) - Radio 1's Huw Stephens confirmed download out 1st Feb, so Marina & The Diamonds are screwed by the inferior The Postal Service rip off. March 1st: Ellie Goulding - Starry Eyed (??? Weeks) - It got it's first play tonight, it is far more commercial and better than Under The Sheets = sounds like a surefire #1 to my ears. March 15th: ????? Goldfrapp - Rocket (???? Weeks) Unknown factors: Christina Aguilera - TBA (Today Xtina has announced The Illusions Factory album out March 3rd)
January 4, 201015 yr Ooh Ellie Goulding has premiered?! I must listen now! It's been on YouTube for months. :P I think it's a good chance of being #1, especially if she wins the BBC Sound poll. I'd imagine she'll perform it at the BRITs as well so we'll see.
