series 3 is airing on irish tv at the moment, so many classic lines in it, i think i could soon be pulling out the boxsets again reminding of some past glories.

'No ending in sight' for 'Shameless'

By Dan French, US TV Editor

David Threlfall has said that he doesn't see Shameless ending any time soon.

The actor, who has directed several episodes of the show, said that he "absolutely loves" his job.

"If I wasn't getting lots out of it, if I wasn't satisfied, I would leave," he told The Mirror. "But I love it, absolutely love it.

"We'll know when it’s time to stop, we'll look at the viewing figures. But it won't be because some middle-class journalist from a broadsheet is talking about it being patronising and saying it's had its day."

He continued: "I'm more inclined to believe the people who watch it, the people who come up to me on the street. We get about four million viewers altogether, on E4 and C4, which is huge for something that’s on at 10pm.

"Now that I'm one of the execs, I can sit in and see how the plots are developed. I just want to be useful. I'm busy for the next year. I can't be greedy. I've got my job, I love my job."

Shameless continues Tuesdays at 10pm on Channel 4.

it gets dafter.... as if that kid could pass off as 14, as if hed go with that old cow...

dunno how much lower it can sink, maybe they ought to try injecting some humour back into it..

the mimi storyline just didnt develop at all, it happened it ended just like that and it had no real substance at all, i agree this series is definitly lacking the usual humour.

exactly, i mean, what was the point in starting it?... just to get a cheap laugh by shocking people?.. there was a golden opportnity there to raise issues in a comedic way and they failed... its like they started out then chickend out of completing it.

Ya i have to agree with that they did have a chance to make it a great typical shameless style storyline, mickey is the only one getting funny scenes at the moment and he is doing a great job i have to say.

What is gonna happen with karen and jamie future wise is what im interested in, they are 2 of my faves in the show and i have to say the episode that was shown on e4 tuesday night was by far the best episode of this series so far, i have found that with shameless in the last 3 series that the few few weeks are much waeker than what follows.
First episode I've missed so far, I'm assuming it wasn't that great?
I still like Shameless but it carries on getting gradually worse every series, its just too OTT and not that much drama (apart from Karen so far this series) The first 2 were amazing, 3 and 4 were great, 5 and 6 good, this one so far is just average. It was at one point in my top 3 shows ever but I don't think it is anymore, I hope it picks up a bit!

So far this is my least faveourite series i have to say but after the last episode i sawon E4 it shows good signs that it could be a good series yet.I still adore the show and i still hugely look forward to tuesday nights but i admit it doesnt have the sparkle it had for previous series. Series 1 2 and 3 are pure tv gold for me and i watch them on dvd fairly often and love it, series 4 was a little disapointing 5 and 6 were a big improvemnt on 4 but not as good as 1 2 and 3.

I still miss charactors like kev and veronica, sheila and her madness she was absolutly fantastic,, marty was also hilarious and carol is probably my faveourite charactor ever she had some of the most hilarious scenes plus i loved her and lillian together likewise yvonne had some classic lines in the early episodes aswell, god the list goes on but shameless will always rank very highly in my faveourite tv shows of all time.

i liked it! ...lol.. ok it lacked laughs but to tackle the subject of gay - straight changes is pretty unique. all to often shows slowly 'out' people for being in gay denial, and indeed this seriese has championed 'give bum sex a go'... but to have a storyline where a gay guy tries it straight was fantastic!

and yes... gay guys CAN turn straight ...the most notable was tom robinson, who in 78 released the anthemic 'glad to be gay', a song about the miseries that gay guys had to cope with in the 70's... in the 80's he married a woman and had kids.

There was a lot of sex in yesterday's episode  it was a good episode though, I enjoyed it :kink:

^ There really was, right?

And Ian topping Mikey - YEAH RIGHT. :P

Mikey is hilarious but we seen a more emotional side of him this time which was good, im wondering whats gonna happen with paddy and mimi in the future though?

The shop is not the same without yvonne, i loved the yvonne and lillian scenes in past series.

For me, Shameless truly lost it's spark when Steve & Fiona left at the end of series 2. :(

it didnt have the same spark after series 3 in my opinion but i still enjoyed all the series but im have doubts about the current series, this series has changed too much it ha slst ots comedy element almost completly which is hugely disapointing as that to me is what shameless done fantasticlly.
