February 26, 201015 yr By the way, French singles chart will include downloads this SPRING :D About time too. :D Hopefully it'll see the end to endless weeks of the same 8 songs occupying the top 8 positions with very few new singles making any impact. I suspect when downloads are added, that first chart with the changes will make for very interesting reading. Ie; two Haiti related singles make the top 10 yet 'We Are The World 25' which was no. 1 on French iTunes appears...that's right, nowhere!!! :rolleyes:

March 10, 201015 yr Is this chart compiled only by sales data? APC-stats has a brandnew French chart. This chart has been compiled according to the PDA & AAS system. March 10, 201015 yr Okay, but I think this kind of charts are outdated. If you want to give a complete picture of the music industry, you have to use all components. As there are sales, downloads, airplay and album-sales.
March 10, 201015 yr Like I said, you're totally right, physical sales is not representative. However I think this chart would be improved immensely with the download sales, although they are not particularly big in France. The important thing, is that this is an official chart.
March 11, 201015 yr Yeah this is the official French singles chart, and in Spring it will include download sales, so it be a lot more representative of french tastes.

Even if both charts, France and Germany, would include all downloads it would have been the same result: Stromae was already top 20 on German iTunes in October, long before it was even known in France. Some german radio stations have just been very early on that song, which actually comes from Belgium. I guess this is the first time ever that a song with french vocals tops the German & French chart at the same time...?
