Posted January 12, 201015 yr ....not be nominated in the New Age category for a Grammy this year? Are you kidding me? I think the panel is either deaf or overlooked the album somehow. :P There are a lot of good things about AWC, a few of which are the best cover of a carol that I have ever heard (O Come O Come Emmanuel), everyone's favorite (Last Time By Moonlight), a heartwarming song (One Toy Soldier), an uplifting song (White Is In The Winter Night), a never before crafted by Enya song (My! My! Time Flies!) I don't think I need to go on, this album has everything, at least for me. It should have been nominated. Of course, I am biased, I won't lie...but AWC is a great album. It has been said that it is the first time in 18 years and 5 albums that Enya didn't make the New Age Grammy list. I, for one, am disgusted. Edited January 12, 201015 yr by On Your Shore
January 12, 201015 yr Well, I have seen it mentioned elsewhere, that possibly AWC is considered more a Christmas-themed album....and, as such, maybe wasn't considered as anything else.....to be nominated.....
January 16, 201015 yr Yeah I must admit I don't think of AWC as a new age album. Mind you, the Grammys have categories for everything under the sun that I'm surprised there isn't one for a holiday/Christmas/seasonal recording.
January 22, 201015 yr Especially since half of everybody seems to have recorded a holiday album at some time in their career...
