It also happened to Fergies fergalicious

No that was different as the release of Fergalicious was actually scheduled and THEN cancelled (most probably cos they thought it would flop! stupid decision as the song had been all over the music channels!)

It may seem messy but both 'Hard' and 'Rude Boy' are doing well on iTunes so I guess they know what they're doing.

I reckon 'Hard' will get an immediate release after 'Rude Boy' too, ala If I Were A Boy / Single Ladies

Fergalicious was only ever scheduled for US Release only. Glamarous was the 2nd single for the UK/Ireland and Fergalicious was 2nd single in the US.It still managed to peak at number 26 on the UK Download chart. Fergalicious was used as a B side to Clumbsy in the UK.

Also Hard was officially announced as a single in the UK and then Cancelled for Rude Boy

Hard was never official announced as a single in the UK was it?

It was announced and then cancelled for Rude Boy. On wikipedia a few weeks ago it stated that it was officially released and then cancelled.
