12th July, exactly a month so should start picking up videoplay (and hopefully airplay) any day now. I'm still confident this will do really well, maybe not initially though... (maybe like 'Sweet About Me' style?)

I really think he needs Radio 1 behind him this time though... He's not as established as Alexandra Burke etc to get a sizeable top 10 hit with just commerical radio. FYE was all over the music channels when I was home for Easter and there's no shortage of people talking about him and loving WYWFM wherever I look on and offline. I just think he needs an extra push to make him seep into the casual public's conciousness.

 

I shall still maintain a slim 20% glimmer of hope it'll be the 'Red' of 2010 :kink:

There's two weeks before it's release and it's already available on iTunes and is only at #85. It's lucky to go top 40. :(

My point still stands though. Beyonce's BHG was around #41 on iTunes 6 weeks before physical release and only reached #31 on that chart eventually. :(

I'm going to be really pissed if this doesn't do well. It's like my favourite song of the year. [Well I heard it in 2009 but still].

 

I really can't see it being a success without R1 support. They've obviously ignored the fact that it's been a really considerable sized hit across the world.

 

 

I may be proven wrong if commerical radio pick it up but it's current iTunes success mirrors FYE's so much that I don't have my hopes up. They both make strong climbs throughout the week, then get battered at the weekend and struggle to regain their holding and just as they do the weekend comes around again :/

I wish I could be positive about it doing well but I don't see it happening, I'm thinking another position like FYE between 30-40 :(

My only hope for this now is that it can become one of those that picks up over time, as that can happen (even though it's more than incredibly rare).

They so should've released WYWFM first and left FYE for second or even later if possible. I have ordered both versions of the physicals but meh I doubt this week'll do much except push the single into the mid 50s or something. Yet crap like Americano and Mark Ronson sells buckets :/
