This is a bit old but I found this interesting news:

Adam Lambert On Eminem's 'Elevator' Dis: 'I'm Not Going To Take It Personally'

'I'm sure he was planning on creating some controversy, because he's a smart guy,' 'American Idol' star says.

Last week, a new Eminem song called "Elevator" hit the Internet, on which the rapper may or may not have used an anti-gay slur in a lyric about

Adam Lambert (and Clay Aiken and Lance Bass).

"Sorry, Lance, Mr. Lambert and Aiken ain't gonna make it/ They get so mad, when I call them both fake/ It's all these f---ing voices in my head, I can't take it/ Someone shut that f---ing baby up, before I shake it," he apparently raps on the tune — with the "Fake/ It's" combination sounding a lot like a common anti-gay slur.

In the time since, fans of both artists have weighed in on the lyric in question, Em's label has declined to comment on it (or confirm what he was actually saying) and gay-news sites like Towleroad.com have decried it as "boorish" and "homophobic." But, aside from a pair of Tweets, we hadn't heard much on the matter from Lambert himself.

But Tuesday night, on the red carpet for the launch of online music service Vevo, MTV News had a chance to ask Lambert about "Elevator," the lyric in question, and whether or not he felt Eminem crossed a line with either. Turns out, he's not taking any of it personally. In fact, he said the whole thing was a pretty smart business decision by Mr. Mathers.

"Well, you know, he used a word that's not necessarily very nice, but I'm sure he's got some sort of justification for it. And I'm not going to take it personally. It's cool, Eminem!," Lambert said, giving a sarcastic thumbs up. "If you get mentioned in an Eminem song, you're doing something right. And I'm sure he was planning on creating some controversy, because he's a smart guy."

"Elevator" is one of several new songs from Em's upcoming Relapse: Refill album, which hits stores on December 21.

Who gives a $h!t about Eminem now? He's nothing more than the rap equilvalent of an old man curtain twitching and whinging about the youth of today. I for one stopped listening to what he had to say a good many years ago

I'm psyched cos Lambert is on the UK release schedule as 'Coming Soon' with 'For Your Entertainment' :D

And I love the video to WWFM! <3

Oooh! I really think he can break the UK market.

How did FYE do in the US? He deserves success imo, I hope he's at least a one-hit wonder here anyway  FYE is the sort of innuendo-ridden stuff that does well here.

This is my second fave off the album btw!

FYE peaked at #65. :(

But the album is selling consistently, so all is well. This needs to go atleast top 40 for him though.

Oh dear :( I would've expected at least Top 30 considering who he is! Did the performance really put people off that much? I find that bizarre.

It didn't neccesarily put them off of him, it seems more towards the song.

If it had ruined him we would be able to tell, because WWFM wouldn't touch the top 50 on radio. So really he just needs to do damage control... A hefty portion of his fanbase in America were middle aged women who compared his abilities to Elvis, so I get why there was a backlash.

He is kinda creating this more bad ass image, but really he needed to take it slower and not have been so ALL UP IN YO FACE about it. He admitted he should have taken the transition slower as well.

Oooh! I really think he can break the UK market.

I hope so!

Glad this is finally starting to get some decent ads now! Oprah today! Lets all hope the performance is amazing and it gets top 10 on itunes.

'For your entertainment' would be a huge hit in the UK if well -promoted.

actually i'm not surprised that it flopped in the US.. it's not the kind of songs that americans would like.. it's too Robbie Williams/Mika for them....

PS- He also performed If I Had You as a bonus after the show! Hopefully this means it will be the third single!

I do hope so (although Id also be happy with Sure Fire Winners, Fever or Pick U Up)
