January 13, 201015 yr 1 2 2 born to make you happy - britney spears 2 4 3 move your body - eiffel 65 brilliant, although there were better songs on the album - Too Much of Heaven/Living in a Bubble for example 3 1 5 northern star - melanie c nice to see that this was a #1 there! 4 7 2 sex bomb - tom jones & mousse t 5 3 7 that's the way it is - celine dion so underrated in the UK, should have gone top ten at least 6 5 11 the bad touch - bloodhound gang 7 11 3 kiss (when the sun don't shine) - vengaboys 8 N 1 what a girl wants - christina aguilera 9 6 4 every day i love you - boyzone 10 12 5 save a little love - marie frank 11 N 1 back in my life - alice deejay classic - stunning pop/dance song 12 10 11 i knew i loved you - savage garden 13 8 6 the world is not enough - garbage 14 N 1 dear lie - tlc 15 N 1 all i really want - kim lukas brilliant, one of the best pop songs that never charted in the UK  16 9 4 can't get enough - suede 17 N 1 cognoscenti vs. intelligentsia - cuban boys didn't realise this was a hit in places other than the UK :o 18 19 2 rhythm divine - enrique iglesias 19 13 4 not in love - juice 20 15 3 don't call me baby - madison avenue amazing, one of my favourite songs of all time
January 13, 201015 yr Author not everything is pop, G  Yeah, 3 weeks of 2000, and 3 different #1s so far: Celine, Mel C, Britney
January 13, 201015 yr meanwhile the 00's in the UK started with Westlife and the Manic Street Preachers :drama:
January 13, 201015 yr Author I'm looking at Sweden now, looks like its Bomfunk MC's domination heh :P
January 13, 201015 yr the first time I heard Freestyler was when I bought a compilation called Fresh Hits 2000 - it was track 4 on Disc 1, this was in early July 2000 - a few weeks later it entered the chart at #2 - I was shocked because at that point I hadn't noticed the hype around it and thought it was set to be a low top 40 hit
January 13, 201015 yr Author Never underestimate the power of dance, especially back then. Top40 would be for dance tracks with only some club support ;)
January 13, 201015 yr I miss those days :( listening to my 100 Hits: Trance Anthems album which a lot of is trance from 1998-2000, it's surprising to see just how many of them actually crept into the back end of the top 40 :o
January 14, 201015 yr Author Yeah, most on club support. Although radio and TV did support the genre more back then, a good example is the Radio 1, Kiss and Galaxy playlists, which nowadays rarely include dance.
