Posted January 15, 201015 yr Boyband Blue working with Ne-Yo Reformed boyband Blue have confirmed that they are writing new material with Ne-Yo. The 'Too Close' group, who reunited to headline Capital FM's Summertime Ball last June, revealed that they have been working on new tracks in the US. "We have been in the studio. We went back in last year," Duncan James told BBC Newsbeat. "We went over to New York and recorded with Jay-Z's people, wrote with Ne-Yo and the stuff sounds really different to anything we've done before." Discussing the new material, James added: "It's a lot up tempo, it's a lot dancier. It's fresh. "And I think that if we do decide to release an album, then we have to step up again and come out with an album that is not what people expect. "The thing I didn't realise about Ne-Yo is that he is such a super-talented person. He writes impeccably. It's all him. He does it all." The group, made up of James, Simon Webbe, Antony Costa and Lee Ryan, confirmed that they are still working on their separate projects. "We've still got individual projects that we're doing and we don't want to rush into it because with Blue it's got to be quality and with quality means time," Webbe said. Blue rose to fame with debut single 'All Rise' in June 2001 and went on to secure three chart-topping albums. I've liked some of their stuff, but hate their ballads (with exception of If You Come Back). That song, Fly By II and One Love are my favorite Blue tracks.
January 15, 201015 yr I thought Blue got progressively worse as they career continued. 'Bubblin' anyone? :puke: Their best single was 'All Rise' which just happened to be their debut. Every song after that got worse than the previous. Imo, Simon Webbe released more great singles as a solo artist than he did as part of Blue. 'No Worries' is an underrated pop classic. The only solo single I literally hated was 'My Heart Pleads For You' because of his abysmal strained vocals. You can't sing high notes, so don't try and attempt it, please!!! :) The less we talk about the other three as solo artists, the better. Edited January 15, 201015 yr by Hitstastic
January 15, 201015 yr I'm actually intrigued about this comeback! LOL! Odd really as I thought Blue were average! But now they're working with Ne-Yo and I liked some of Simon Webbe's singles, I'm actually looking forward to it more than I originally thought...
January 15, 201015 yr 'If You Come Back' was quite a childhood classic of mine. (If you count aged 14 as childhood)

January 15, 201015 yr Awww I quite liked Blue. Guilty was rather nice imo but yeah on the whole im in agreement that the materials quality seemed to decrease with every single.
January 16, 201015 yr Their first album was brilliant. I'm not ashamed to say it was a great CD with not a bad track. 'If You Come Back To Me' was fantastic and one of my favourite tracks back in the day. Sadly they just went down the Westlife route and got worse with every song they released after 'Fly By'. Only 'Breathe Easy' redeemed them slightly and that was mediocre at best. I seriously think they'll flop hard if they come back. I just can't imagine them now in their 30's or whatever with Ne-Yo or just singing. It's wrong
January 16, 201015 yr Oh, Blue... Hopefully they won't release a track more snotty than 'Sorry Seems to Be a Hardest Word' because every girl at school thought that she was obliged to play this song during the break. But still, they were decent as far as I remember but I can't remember any more songs from them.
January 16, 201015 yr Their singles were nice enough at the time, you wouldn't switch stations when they came on the radio but they didn't release anything particularly that memorable and as a whole they always seemed a bit bland to me.
