February 19, 201015 yr Author I bet the thought of releasing a new sound has put the fire in his belly..new experiences, scary as they may be are his life blood...i love all that about him  ..it's damn exciting! But he's very savvy too.. perhaps he will do an album of halves?...like he did with FC..perhaps there will be one of two Hot dance tracks and the rest upbeat pop, a new sound to gather more fans and not so new at the same time so he can test the water without scary those who are used to his sound half to death? .
February 28, 201015 yr Will's collaboration with Groove Armada get's a thumbs up, in this review of GA's Black Light album. http://pviktor.co.uk/p_viktor_/2010/02/gro...ght-review.html Invariably it is the songs transcending this formula that leave the strongest impression. Will Young’s turn on History, an electro-dance number borrowing very heavily from Bronski Beat’s Smalltown Boy, is glorious. Young’s soulful voice is looped and filtered but this doesn’t distract from his gorgeous falsettos in the chorus in tribute to Jimmy Somerville. Edited February 28, 201015 yr by suggy
March 1, 201015 yr Popjustice's song of the day. 'History' By Groove Armada feat Will Young Groove Armada's new album is extremely good (it's out today - you can listen to clips on Amazon) and, right at the end of the album, the 'happy finish' is this brilliantly atmospheric, 'Smalltown Boy'-esque number featuring Will Young. A pleasant listen. Read more: http://www.popjustice.com/index.php?...#ixzz0gvImIDG5
March 1, 201015 yr Great stuff from PJ, has anyone posted the whole version over there yet TT? I don't think so suggy.
March 1, 201015 yr I heard this track for the first time on Saturday, and I absolutely love it. Glad you like it. Will will be working with them on his next album. From DS. Groove Armada: 'Will Young is brilliant' Monday, March 1 2010, 15:53 GMT By David Balls, Music Reporter http://images.digitalspy.co.uk/07/42/160x120_groove_armada.jpg Groove Armada have described recent collaborator Will Young as "brilliant". The duo revealed that they were impressed with Young's vocals when they teamed up with him on new track 'History'. "The song we did called 'History' is a kind of Bronski Beat homage," Andy Cato told the Daily Star. "I had a few nights out with Will in Ibiza and he's just a brilliant singer, but obviously he does his commercial stuff which isn't exactly what we do. "But I found if you treat his voice in a different way and put it in a totally different context, it sounds great." Cato said that he admires the 'Leave Right Now' singer's versatility and revealed that Groove Armada are planning to work on his upcoming new album. "He's asked for some more backing tracks so we’ll do that," Cato added. "There's all sorts of stuff he can do, I think he could be a real George Michael type of quality recording artist." Groove Armada released new album Black Light today.
March 1, 201015 yr Thanks TT : "There's all sorts of stuff he can do, Absolutely - his vocal ability to crossover genres is second to none - and does it regularly not just as a one-off  I very much doubt there are many 'pop' singers who could, or would be willing to learn, an entirely different singing technique in order to sound like someone from the 40s. That's why Popstar to Opera Star was so interesting - shows what can be achieved if you have the vocal talent. Edited March 1, 201015 yr by munchkin
March 19, 201015 yr Thanks to Bumbling. From the Yorkshire Evening Post. Listen to it Groove Armada Black Light (Ministry of Pies) Their chart-troubling days may be over but Tom Findlay and Barnsley-born Andy Cato are actually making some of the most interesting music of their career right now. Inspired by indie-dance crossover acts such as Friendly Fires and MGMT, the duo's fifth studio album features more prominent guitars and a rockier sensibility. Australian singer Nick Littlemore of Empire of the Sun brings a touch of 80s-style New Romanticism to four songs, including Cards to Your Heart, while Jessica Larrabee of Brookyn blues duo She Keeps Bees is a forthright presence on Look Me in the Eye Sister and Just For Tonight. Elsewhere there are guest slots from SaintSaviour and electro wonder kids Fenech Soler and a dream collaboration with Bryan Ferry on Shameless. The biggest surprise though is Will Young, whose soaring vocals on History are the highlight of a fine album
March 19, 201015 yr Posted by IscaGill from GA's blog. It gets more exciting. GA DO seem to be in the USA at the moment judging by the blog on their official website..but check out their interesting comment.. Arrived Wednesday night and straight away DJed at a small party for our new label OM records. Afterwards, made the mistake of staying out late enough so it's morning again in the UK and sleep is impossible. Made the 5 hour soundcheck hard work. But we needed to get History into the set. The Americans love it. Response at the gig was electric. Saint Saviour blew people away as always. MAD raised the roof as always. They love live music here and the Black Light combo of rock 'n roll and electronics feels right. Andy  Really wonder if History couild be a single in the US with it being second on the album tracklisting over there. Edited March 19, 201015 yr by truly talented
March 19, 201015 yr Author Thanks for Bringing that over TT...how exciting is the possibility of it being a single! :w00t:
March 19, 201015 yr Really fabulous news today - it's all coming together ..... and the Americans love it too - :yahoo:
