My heart sank when I saw that voice coach zoe ? was on because I remember when he was on before so was she and felt she was anti him. Did you notice that she pointedly said what do you do and he replied enjoy myself luckily cos I felt she was having a dig.It wasnt my favourite panel that day.

I enjoyed it. I was glad Lesley was on.

I loved Darius on this,but i wish he'd had more time to talk........looking as Yummy as ever too :heart: !

I wish that he had mentioned his album though.......he just said that he was writing music for other people! :(

Darius always looks like a matinee idol anyway but it's nicer to see his hair a bit ruffled.

 

Someone said that on Friday he looked like he should be in a black and white film, sitting at a bar smoking a fag and drinking shots

 

Someone else said he looked like one of the Corleones ( Andy Garcia), someone else Clive Owen and Cary Grant and James Bond got honourable mentions again. on the negative side - kebab salesman and the persian businessman.

 

Re the album - you have to think that the producers/publishers will have cherry picked his best commercial songs. If they're on high profile albums like the AI signings, I doubt if he'd be allowed to put out his own versions .

 

That means we're left with the less immediately commercial ones or the deeply personal ones - that can't be bad. The singles have always been quite low in my list of most favourite Darius songs.

I did love 'Rushes' and 'Live Twice' although, over the years I got to prefer 'Journey's End'. Most of my favorites are album or 'b' sides.

I wasn't saying That I didn't like his singles. I can still happily play both of Darius's albums straight through. There are not many other albums I'd do it with. I'm trying to think of even one atm.

 

Even the songs which didn't make the albums move me or excite me. The only Darius song I've never really taken to is I Would Die for You.

 

I don't think the singles were representative of the bulk of Darius's songwriting or well chosen - the first 3 were too alike and Kinda Love was all wrong to launch Live Twice. I'd have gone with either Only You or Better Man.

I still love 'Only You'. I now love 'If I Could' which I didn't take to when the album was first released. Maybe because I was looking for rock.

I so want to hear Darius sing the whole Live Twice album live.

I'd happily settle for that and if he wanted to play some new songs I wouldn't object either.

 

As an encore/bonus, he could sing me some traditional Scottish airs or some arias or some jazzy/swing stuff or some musical theatre songs or some country music....................or anything. He really can sing virtually anything.

My memory is not what it was. Ive just remembered the scottish song I would also like o see pinned - Caledonia.in fact all the ones he has done like that would be nice.

I would have great trouble sitting through an opera. I like the tenor range better than baritone in opera - although I like baritone elsewhere. If I think of an aria it tends to be a tenor. Most of the baritone range seem so much less melodic.

I wonder what name he's using to write for others. I wonder if we'll ever get to hear any of them. The Way I Do was under Danesh and that song was very Darius. I could practically hear his voice the first time I heard it.

 

We've lost the demos too. I could never make up my mind which of those was my favorite. I'd be happy with full versions of those as album tracks.
