January 18, 201015 yr Not that surprising, they've had many airplay #1 hits this decade Well it surprised me.
January 18, 201015 yr 02. Lady (Hear Me Tonight) - Modjo (Barclay, 4,146.251M, 152,434) Have no idea what this is, from the title or the artist! *youtubes*
January 18, 201015 yr Look at my Sophie sitting pretty at the top of that tree. The song is so so far from her best and not what I love her for, but that's still an incredible achievement.
January 18, 201015 yr Have no idea what this is, from the title or the artist! *youtubes* Really? :o I never met a person who doesn't know this song. Even my grandma does
January 18, 201015 yr Really? :o I never met a person who doesn't know this song. Even my grandma does Ok. As soon as it started I recognised it. ^_^
January 18, 201015 yr So that's Madonna probably in the Top 10 in the 80's, 90's and 00's.... quite impressive I wonder will she keep it up in the 10's?
January 18, 201015 yr :w00t: Amazing for the babes. Wow, second most played artist of the decade. That's awesome!
January 18, 201015 yr Interesting that the youngest song ('This Love') is from the first half of 2004. It really shows that commercial radio keep the same playlists for YEARS! I'm sure stuff like 'Apologize', 'Shine' and 'Chasing Cars' would appear within a year or two if this were to become a rolling 10 year chart...
January 18, 201015 yr Author more info from Music Week: Three of the top five songs were released in 2000, with Groovejet, Lady (Hear Me Tonight) and Rock DJ all topping the OCC sales chart within five weeks of one other. Two other tracks in the Top 10 – Toploader’s Dancing In The Moonlight at six and All Saints’ Pure Shores at seven – were also hits in 2000, reflecting the advantage older hits have in this decade chart, as they have a longer timeframe to build up radio plays. By contrast the highest-ranked track of 2009, Lily Allen’s The Fear, only appears at number 215 on the chart. Further positions mentioned: 22. Feel - Robbie Williams 43. Something Beautiful - Robbie Williams 51. Angels - Robbie Williams 83. She's The One - Robbie Williams 54. Round Round - Sugababes 68. Push The Button - Sugababes 76. Hole In the Head - Sugababes 92. About You Now - Sugababes 34. Love At First Sight - Kylie Minogue 74. In Your Eyes - Kylie Minogue 78.** Spinning Around - Kylie Minogue 87. Laura - Scissor Sisters 88. It Wasn't Me - Shaggy feat. Rik Rok ** text actually printed in Music Week as 68, though as all other lists are presented in decreasing order, and as position 68 was already attributed to the Sugababes, this should seemingly be either 78, 88 or 98 (as the discussion is limited to the Top 100), or perhaps any other position below 74 "Can't Get You Out Of My Head" is the only track to feature on both the Top 10 list of Airplay hits and the Top 10 list of Sales hits of the decade (7th on sales) Only two of the decade's Top 10 sellers appear in the Top 100 Airplay hits of the decade - the other being "It Wasn't Me" by Shaggy feat. Rik Rok, ranking 88th
